"Aaaand... CHECKMATE!" Exclaimed Marinette.
I groaned out of frustration. This is our fifth round and I only won twice!
"Well, your mind works well." I say with jealousy showing.
"Yep. Here's a better way of playing chess. Think three steps ahead." She says.
I think about that for a moment. Hmmmm... that is true, I think to myself.
"Well, anyway. Macaroons coming right up!" She smiles and gets up from her spot.
She opens the trapdoor and leaves through it.
I know this isn't right. At all. But curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back, so... this is my queue.
I got up from the floor and began looking around the room.
I rummaged through her drawers, shelves, dressers, etc.
Then in one of her drawers I found over sixty pictures of me at my photo shoots.
She had pink hearts surrounded them, which she had drawn on.
I began blushing furiously.
I could basically hear Plagg scolding me for snooping around without permission when we got home.
I put all her stuff back and then found a pink book in the shape of a semi-circle.
I open it and then began reading. I think it's her homework diary...
Dear Diary,
Today Adrien, my crush, smiled at me and even talked to me! I managed to say a full sentence without stuttering! It's a great improvement although he'll probably never feel the same about me as I feel for him...
Xoxo Mari/Bug
Nope. Not a homework diary.
I flipped to today's entry, skipping the rest because I didn't want to invade her privacy totally.
Dear Diary,
Today I visited Adrien's house and brought him some tea. I'm not exactly sure what had happened but in just a moment, we were about to kiss but he retreated and then so did I. I was so hurt, it was unbelievable. Of course I wouldn't tell anyone that I was upset because of it. I was trying to reach something that was simply impossible. He was too good for me.
I got so upset that I went to the bathroom and cried for half an hour or something. Afterwards, I heard Adrien knock on the door and try to get me out of there but instead, I transformed into--
I stopped reading there and shut the diary because I heard Marinette walking up the stairs.
I dashed back to my spot that I was last seen in by her and she was humming a tune that sounded familiar. (In case you haven't figured it out, it's the Miraculous theme song.)
"H- hey, Marinette!" I smiled, feeling uneasy.
I'm starting to regret reading her diary. I really wanted to know what happened after. But the word transformed. What did she mean by that? Transformed into what?
I also wanted to know how she got to the Eiffel Tower so quickly and what she thought about during the time she was talking to me on top of there.
"Uh... Chat, you alright?" She asked with a worried smile.
"Yeah. I'm good." I said.
"Have a macaroon. I also brought a few croissants and cookies of different sorts!" She smiled.
"You're so generous!" I said genuinely.
"Nah..." She sighed.
I rolled my eyes at her.
She's beautiful but she doesn't know it.
She's kind but she doesn't know it.
She's generous but she doesn't know it.
She's everything to me but she doesn't know it.
