Thank You

"Uhh. . ." I trailed off.

She just stared at me. I've never seen her look at me like that before. She seemed like she didn't really care. I mean, I'm a superhero! She literally cares more when I'm my simple, old, boring self.

"Are we going to just stand out here in the open, where people can get a scoop of this?" She asked, crossing her arms.

"I honestly have nothing to loose since I'm a civilian, but you, you're a superhero. People might get the wrong idea though. Especially about you." She said, checking out her nails.

"Okay. Fine. Let's get inside." I said and hopped in without using the ladder.

Marinette hopped in right behind me too.

"Aren't only super strong people supposed to be able to do that without breaking a bone?" I asked.

"Are you implying that I'm weak?" She asked as she poked her face close to mine.

I slightly blushed. I mean, she's my friend and a classmate of mine. I've never been this close to anyone before.

"Oh! Sorry!" She squeaked and backed away a lot.

"I- it's fine!" I said, waving my hands dismissingly.

I looked around her room and spotted something odd. Pictures of Adrien Agreste. If I ask her a few questions, I may know why she's so scared of me and why she has posters of me.

"Marinette. I'm actually here to say thank you. Well, it's not my thank you. It's Adrien Agreste's." I said.

Her attention was quickly diverted to me. Strange. . .

"Why?" She asked.

"Well, you made a scarf for him. He found out. And he was so happy about it. He wanted to thank you personally but he fell ill. He won't be coming to school for about a month." I said.

"Oh no! Poor Adrien!" She exclaimed.

"Yeah. . . Poor Adrien." I said.

"Maybe I should visit him! Then we can talk about his illness. Wait! My mom has herbal tea! I could give it to him! Ancient Chinese method. Always works in my family." She rambled.

"So. . . Marinette. . . Why do you have pictures of Adrien?" I asked. Smooth, Adrien. Just smooth.

"Uhh. . .," She blushed, turning into a fascinating shade of red. "That's none of you business.".

I'll admit. She's a tough nut to crack. And I've seen plenty of fan girls keep posters of me. But Marinette's reason seems rather different.

Marinette clearly has no one she can really talk to. Unless that Tikki girl is like her bestest friend on Earth.

"Marinette. Who's Tikki?" I asked without thinking.

I heard Marinette gasp and then cover her mouth.

"You know who Tikki is?" She asked, clearly horrified and scared.

"No, not really. . . Just heard her when I was up there." I pointed at the trapdoor.

"Is she like your internet friend or something? Long distance friendship?" I asked her.

"Yeah, I guess. . ." She mumbled.

"Anyway, now that my job is done, I'll be going!" I smiled and jumped up and landed on the balcony.

"Wait!" I heard her call out. I turned around.

"Thanks for coming all this way to tell me." She smiled.

I smiled back and said, "No problem!".

We both stared at each other and her mouth hung open just a bit. She looked up at me and I looked down at her.

"A- anyway. . . I better get going." I said and before she could say anything, I leaped off and ran home on top of Paris' roofs.
