"Nathalie!" I called out.

"Yes Adrien?" Asked Nathalie as she walked into my room.

"May I have a few friends over? Well, particularly one." I said.

"Nino?" She asked.

"No. I need Marinette to come over here if she is free and wants to. Don't force it upon her though." I uttered.

"Sure thing." She replied and walked out, shutting the door behind her.

I sighed of relief as Plagg flew out from under my pillow once more.

"Seriously? What're you trying to do Adrien? This is going to look weird." Muttered Plagg.

I rolled my eyes at his remarks.

"Why don't you just get yourself some camembert or something?" I asked, irritation clearly showing.

"Is that another way of saying shut up?" Asked Plagg.

"Yes." I replied.

"Well, that's not very nice. . ." mumbled Plagg as he flew out of my room to go to the kitchen.

After an hour, I heard the door bell ring and knew instantly that it was Marinette.

I left my room to go down stairs and open the door for her.

When I got to the door, I checked my breath and took a deep breath and opened the door.

"Hey Marinette!" I smiled at her.

"Hey. . ." She mumbled under her breath.

She was holding a plastic bag and had her little purse slung over her shoulder.

"Come in!" I said and she smiled at me while walking in.

"Where's your kitchen?" She asked.

This confused me a little. Why the heck would she need my kitchen?

"Uh. . ," I began. "I- it's just over there." I said, pointing to a door on the right, leading to our kitchen.

She smiled and nodded and walked toward the door and then entering the room.

"Kettle please?" She asked.

"Uh, sure." I said, walking over to a cupboard and then taking out a kettle.

I gave it to her and she put it on the stove and then filled it in with some room temperature water. Then, she switched on the stove and the fire began heating the kettle's bottom.

After around three or four minutes the kettle began to whistle. As it was whistling, Marinette ran over to it and switched off the stove and picked it up and poured it into a cup with a bunch of dried herbs.

"What is that herb called?" I asked. "It's called Qian Ri Hong. It's really good! It's always been used in my family." She replied, stirring the herb and water together creating yellow-greenish coloured water. It created an aroma of freshness.

"Smells nice." I said, taking in a deep breath through my nose.

"Wait 'till you taste it." She said and handed me the cup. It wasn't too hot and neither was it cold. In other words, warm. I took a sip and almost spit it out. It was a little sweet and it tasted a lot like medicine! She must've thought I was down with a cold before she arrived.

"What happened to your cheek?" Asked Marinette as I drank the cup of tea rather slowly.

She then put her hand on my cheek, caressing it. I put the glass down subconsciously and stared right into her eyes. It was as if she was hypnotizing me. She rubbed her thumb against my cheek and stared into my eyes. I leaned in a little and she leaned in too. As our lips were about to touch I remembered My Lady. Suddenly, we both pulled away and stared at each other for a few seconds. Marinette then coughed a little and looked away. Before she could turn, I saw the sides of her eyes swelling with tears.

{Marinette}

How could I have been so stupid as to think he'd actually kiss me? He made it clear he liked someone else. I am so foolish! I pulled myself into this mess. I bet it'll be awkward now!

As I stared at him, I began attempting to blink back the tears and it worked. I then realized I couldn't hold it back for much longer if I didn't turn away.

I was scared. For a moment there, I was about to kiss him and we'd both be happy but then I pulled away, remembering he liked someone else. I respected him, that's why I pulled away.

I didn't want to hurt the one he loved and I didn't want to hurt him.

{Adrien}

"Uh. . . so. . ." She trailed off, her voice clearly about to crack.

"Marinette, I'm sorry I scared you." I said and put my hand on her shoulder.

"It's fine. What was about to happen would've ruined our friendship anyway." She said coldly.

My heart broke into a million pieces. She had never sounded so hurt in her life before.

"May I use the rest room please?" She asked, turning to me.

"Sure." I said and lead her to another room on the second floor.

She walked in and didn't come out for a whole half hour. I began getting impatient and then knocked on the door.

No answer.

"Marinette? Are you okay?" I asked.

No answer.

"Marinette, I'm going to come in if you don't come out! I'm beginning to get a bit worried!" I exclaimed.

I went to Nathalie's office downstairs and got a spare key to the bathroom.

"Marinette! I'm coming in!" I said, putting the key into the key hole.

I turned the key a few times and then stopped.

I pulled down the door and handle and then opened the door.

What I saw was absolutely shocking!

Marinette was no where in sight and the bathroom window we had was open. She must have escaped.

I give her some time to cool off and runs off?

What if she hurt herself in the process? I walked in and looked through the window.

No trace of her at all.
