Aster
Josh and I were finally escorted to a room and told to wait until the specialist would come in. I was sitting up on the elevated seat and Josh was standing right next to me with his arms wrapped around me tapping away at some beat on my arm. He was acting especially clingy since I told him that I might be pregnant, but I didn't mind, it was always comforting to be around him.
"What if I'm not pregnant?" I randomly asked feeling nervous again.
Josh shrugged, "We can always try again."
I nodded but was still anxious. "And what if I am? What are we gonna do? We're not even married yet."
"If you are then I'll be happy and we can plan to move into a bigger house or something and we can still have a wedding or if you wanna wait till after you have the baby then we could do that." Josh explained as if it came easy to him, but for some reason I kept feeling like I was gonna screw something up. "Don't worry too much," he pressed a kiss to the top of my head, "whatever happens between us we can always figure it out, and I'll never leave your side."
"I just don't wanna lose a baby again," I sighed holding back tears. "I don't wanna lose you like I lost Daniel."
"Daniel was a coward." Josh stated firmly. "He didn't want to deal with you after you just lost your baby, he thought it was easier to just go off and fall in love with someone else. I'm not like him. I love you too much to leave you, and whatever hardships you go through I want to be there to help. You don't have to struggle alone anymore. You don't need to be so blue."
"Blue?" I questioned sniffing away the tears that were welling up.
"Yeah, blue." He kinda mumbled.
I smiled, "Is that the color I am?"
He nodded surely. "Yeah, you're blue for sure."
"Why?" I began to ask but we were cut off from the sound of a knock on the door.
"Guess you'll have to wait for our vows to find out." He smirked and placed one last kiss on my cheek.
I rolled my eyes playfully. "Come in," I called out to the doctor.
"Hi Ms. Montillo, I'm Dr. Frader and I'll be doing your ultrasound today." He spoke as he turned down the lights.
I smiled at him, "Thank you, you could call me Aster, and this is Joshua my fiancé."
"Of course, it's nice to meet you two." He grinned and shook our hands before turning back towards the equipment. "If you would just lay back for me and lift your shirt, I'll have to smear some on this gel on your stomach and we'll get going."
I laid back in the seat and lifted my shirt before Dr. Frader came over and spread the gel across my lower stomach. I held onto Josh's hand and squeezed trying to calm my nerves.
"So you're here to confirm whether or not your pregnant correct?" Dr. Frader asked as he calibrated the machine before walking over to me and using it to search for a baby.
"Yeah," I confirmed.
"Well this shouldn't take more than a few minutes." He moved the device around and watched the screen closely. After a few minutes he stopped. "Well, congratulations Joshua and Aster, it seems as though you're pregnant."
I looked over to Josh and saw the biggest smile on his face, he was glowing like the sun. "Where is it?" I asked looking up at the screen.
"Well this early in the pregnancy we can only see the beginning of development. So if you look closely right here there's this small bean shaped object, that's your baby right there." Dr. Frader explained. "So would you like some copies developed?"
"Yes!" Josh blurted out eagerly.
Dr. Frader chuckled at his eagerness. "Okay, how many copies can I get you two?" He asked.
"Um," I looked up at Josh thinking about who would want one, "Maybe five?"
"Alright, perfect. We'll get those developed and sent to you guys within the week." He explained wiping the gel from my stomach and clearing up the space. "Congratulations again, we'll schedule to see you in about four our five weeks to check on the development and give you some estimations on your due date." Dr. Frader finished off.
"Thank you, we'll see you then." I thanked and he nodded before going off to see another patient.
Then the realization hit, I'm pregnant. "Josh oh my god." I squealed with tears in my eyes.
He laughed giddily and pulled me into a tight hug. "We're gonna be parents."HEY PALS! That's the end of Blue guys. The next book will be called Green and will probably be the last book of this series. Keep an eye out for it, I'll try to start writing it soon. Anyways, thanks for reading, much love.
