"God, I hope he doesn't beat my ass." Calum shivers. He hadn't even touched his food for the past ten minutes, just staring over my shoulder in terror at Michael.

"Just try to keep your mind off Harley, is it that hard?" I say.

"He's been sending me devil eyes all day, ash." He completely ignores my suggestion. I sigh, turning around to see Michael. His arm was hanging over Harley's shoulder protectively as she rested into his armpit. Her eyes were closed as if she had a headache, or she was tired. And the truth was, he was glaring at Calum while he did it all; like Harley was his property.

I'd never seen her not blabbing on about something. She was a very talkative girl. She was always either drooling over Michael or gossiping with Rae.

"Just try not to pay attention to it, man." I try to ease him. "Don't stare, it will just make it worse."

Eventually Calum stopped looking at the couple, and it was time to head back to class. Calum followed me to the trash bins to dump our left over food in the cans, including our now crumpled brown bags. We both headed for the door, heading our desperate ways to get to our lockers.

As I walked down the hallway, there I saw Rae standing at her locker, her fingers messing with the knob on her locker. She looked pissed, with her books held to her side as she tried over and over to get the combination right. She was honestly really hot when she was angry. The last time I saw her get really mad was the when she kissed me on Friday.

I waltz over to the frustrated girl, standing there with half her books fallen to the floor.

"Rae," I began. Rae looked up at me, her eyes widening. "Let me help-"

"No, I've got it." I chuckle at her for her bad lying skills.

"Well, obviously not." I smile at her. Rae snarls at me and steps back, quickly picking up her books at stuffing them into the crook of her arm and her stomach. She didn't even look me in the eye. Something about her felt off today. I hurry to unjam Rae's locker and get out of her way.

Rae shoves her books into her locker with force and my eyebrows furrow in confusion.

"You okay, Cullens?"

"I'm just not in the mood, Ashton." She slams her locker door shut. She had her bag dangling off her shoulder which meant she probably wasn't going to come to her locker at the end of the day.

"Are we still studying tonight?" Rae stops in her tracks. She turns around slightly, not looking me in the eyes but staring at me over her shoulder. She looked like she was going to say something but she never did. She just sighed and walked away again.

I didn't understand why Rae was treating me as if I did something wrong. I hadn't done anything to her, had I? Or maybe it was the kiss.

After the kiss Rae and I shared last Friday, we decided not to talk about it. We didn't say anything after it, so I thought it would've been best if I'd gone home, so I did. I was bouncing off the walls the minute I stepped back into my house, and my mom tried to ask me what was going on but I didn't reply. I was so happy, I gave her a big sloppy kiss on the cheek and ran up stairs that day.

My smile fades as I stand there in the hallway. Most of the people in the hallways had already gotten to class but my science teacher loved me, so it wasn't a big problem for me to be late.

I was walking down the hallway, careful not to see Michael or Luke on the path to my class on accident. They didn't seem to make an appearance to I just lifted my head up and walked down the hallway, notching my glasses up a few here and there.

That is until I hear yelling.

I stopped where I was in the blank hallway, listening for the sound. The noise echoed through the hallway, bouncing off from the back stairwell that I was next to. The sound of grunts and screams were heard and as soon as I realized who was screaming, I burst through the stairwell doors and scurry down.

"Don't you even fucking look at her, do you understand me, Hood?" Michaels deep voice growls as I stare with wide eyes.

I try to help my best friend, but my feet are glued to the floor. There laying with a bloody nose, is Calum. He was pinned to the ground by Michael's pale arms, whilst his nose was gushing out blood. His eyes were puffy and red like he was crying and his hands were above his head, his restraints being Michael himself.

"I swear I don't like her!" Calum whimpers beneath Michael. I finally make a move to do something.

"Stop." I blurt out. Michaels head snaps up, his newly dyed red hair flailing everywhere as he looked me straight in the eye. He got off of Calum slowly, pushing his legs to the side and he trudges over to me. I back up against the walls of the stairs, trying not to act too intimidated by Michaels broad stance but failing.

I was just about the same height as Michael, but never as strong. The boy always got into fights and caused trouble here and there. I never challenged my self enough to throw a punch at someone.

"What was that," he pushes my shoulder against the wall. "Irwin?" His voice lowers and he looks at me intently.

"N-nothing, just.. What did Calum ever do to you?" I tried my hardest to save Calum and still get out of this mess.

"I don't want him around my fucking girlfriend, that's what, now get out of my face." For a teenage boy, Michael sure did cuss a lot.

Calum hurriedly got up, wiping the dirt off of his pants and straightening out his shirt. He stared at Michael in fear, sniffling up a small tear and looking down at the floor. He acted as if he has just lost his pride. He moped around the floor before standing to my side, waiting for me to walk with him. Michael glares at Calum one last time before telling us to piss off.

"Man, are you okay?" I ask Calum as we begin to walk away from the vulgar boy. He ruffles his collared shirt into ye right position, then finally looking up at me with a sorrow face.

"Sure." He mumbles. I put a hand on his shoulder knowingly.

"One day you'll find someone, bro. Maybe not Harley, but someone." I say into his ear. He didn't look at me but just nodded away.

"He said I couldn't even look at her or he'll beat my ass again. He's such a douche." He shakes his head in a stressful manner.

I then realized how complicated his problem was. I only apprehended it because it related to mine. It made me see how Luke was just the same as Michael; verbally beating me up over the fact that I had Rae in my hands and he didn't. He always made comments in the hallways or whenever he saw me at practice he would tell me to fuck off or call me names.

"Same with Luke." Calum raises head to look at me, my hand had already moved off of his shoulder and was crosses with my other arm as we walked through the empty hallways.

"What do you mean?" He asks.

"Luke and Michael are like the same person, you know? Rae and Harley are best friends and have been in their hands since the beginning and Luke is just getting pissy that Rae isn't into him anymore." I say, not even taking a breath between my words.

"Well that's different, Harley is obsessed with Michael." He complains.

"But he's jealous, cal." I try to cheer him up. A smile appears on his face and we both agree to head to class, so we finally part ways and walk to our classes separately.

Wow that was a shit filler.

I know it's annoying how Harley is always in the story but they won't get in the way for a majority of the story, only here and there.

It's sort of short and I'm sorry but I'm trying not to make the book go by fast, and it's really hard. I'm trying to keep the characters with a reputation so I'm

Sorry if you don't like that.

Vote and comment! :)
