I was at my house. It was the day after Rae had kissed my cheek, and I had been sitting on my bed reading a classic comic book, waiting for her to come over and study with me.

When it was the last locker break of the day, Rae had actually come to her locker. which was quite rare. When she walked by I tried not to stare, because I thought it'd be creepy, but it was nice to see her wink at me after I turned to see her face again anyway.

She gave me her number to give her my address, so about an hour or two ago, I texted her the house number and street and what not. I had been doing nothing ever since she texted back a simple 'okay', but it's almost 5:00, so I guess she could be here any minute.

Calum had been freaking out today when I told him that she kissed me yesterday evening. He kept saying things like how she probably has a massive secretive crush on me, but I could never believe him. She was probably just being nice so that I could be some sort of tutor to her. Today she still sat at the same table as Luke, but I noticed that to stay away from him, she had to suffer sitting next to Michael, just gulping down Harley's face.

All in the middle of my thought process, I feel a vibration in my pocket that I was getting a call. At first I assumed it was going to be Calum, trying to tell me to take it slow or something, give me advice, but it surprised me when the tab on the small screen read; Rae.

I gulp down my nervousness, sitting up on my small bed and pressing the answer button on my phone.

"Hello?" I speak.

"Hey ashton.. Its Rae. I know I said I would come over but I was wondering if you would wanna come over here?" She asks. My cheeks grow with heat as she asks the simple question.

"Uhm yeah, what's your address?" I say with no hesitance at all.

"Its in the Cranston St. culdesac.. You know the house at the end of that street, don't you?" She asks. I actually wasn't very far from the house, maybe a mike or two.

"Yeah.. sure I'll be there in like twenty minutes." I reply. It amazed me that I was actually getting better with this whole stuttering problem, especially when I spoke to Rae. She was growing on me more and more each day and I felt like I was finally actually getting comfortable with the fact that she might genuinely want to be my friend in the first place.

Rae and I both said our brief goodbyes over the phone, and as soon as we hung up I jumped up from my bed. I rolled up the old comic book, stuffing it into my back pants pocket and walking out of my room and waltzing down the stairs. Just as I was about to walk out of the front door, the familiar nagging voice yells from the kitchen.

"Ashton, sweetie where are you going.. It's almost dinner." My mom calls.

"Mom.. I can't eat. I'll just pick something up." Again I try to rush out of the door but she questions me again.

"What is it?" She questions as if she knows that I'm urging to leave. "Is it a girl?" She asks, placing her right hand on her hip and pursing her lips at me. I always hated when my mom asked about my social life. I never really had any place to be unless it was with Calum, but she always sensed that something was up before I could do things.

I huff at my mother, nodding my head slowly as I look down. I didn't want her to get all giddy and motherly so I tried to turn away from her but she grabbed my shoulders and pulled my into the crook of her neck before I could. She squealed loudly as she choked me with her death hug.

"Oh my baby boy! Is she pretty? Does she get good grades? Ashy, baby, your going on a date!" She yells at the top of her lungs, making me step back.
