after getting ready for the past twenty minutes, Cal and I decided it was probably best to scram. I had changed out of sweatpants into a pair of dark blue jeans and unlike my normal red sweater, I wore a loose, Dased and Confused shirt, with the sleeves cut off, something I did with all of my other t shirts.
Calum didn't need to change, more of just washing his face and freshaning up. He already had a decent shirt on, and a good pair of cscki shorts, so he just whipped on one of his beanies and we left.
The streets were empty as we drotted over to the Hemming's house, it being a weekend and all i didn't really expect it to be this quiet, but after about twenty minutes of walking, we started to hear the light sound of music beating through the streets, so we both knew the way to head.
As we arrived, I almost felt bad for Calum. The sight was normal for me though. Rae had been sitting there on her front porch, messing around with her phone while the hormonal couple known as Harley and Michael devoured each other like they were the last peice of food on earth.
They hadn't noticed us walking up to them, but as I looked toward Cal, he had a shy pink tint resting upon his cheeks, and i sudenly fely awful for him. He would probably never admit, but I knew my best friend damn well, and he had a major crush on Harley. his head looked down to his feet as he grunted, muttering a quiet "gross" under his breath like it was no big deal. but i knew inside he was sort of devestated.
"Ash!" I'm whipped out of my thoughts by Rae calling my name. My glum face turned into a bright happy smile in the matter of seconds, though I was still sorrow about Calum and his problems, I couldn't resist smiling at the sound of rae's voice.
"hey, so should we just leave them there to notice that we're gone, or should we get them to acknowledge us?" I smirk as if pulling their faces away from each others was some type of joke.
"Clifford!" Rae suddenly yells, distracting Michael from his girlfiriend. His head rips away from hers and smirks once he sees me. Me and Michael werent concidered friends, but i had seen him start to take me in more then he ever had in the past years. I didn't know if it was because Rae was his friend, or if he genuinely liked me, but i was just glad he didn't beat me up about everything anymore.
Calum wan't frightened anymore. at first he was terrified of the boy, but then realized it was probably just best to live out of fear, and seeing that Michael was now somehwat my friend, maybe he though he was.. safe? I didn't really understand their relationship.
"c'mon, babe." I heard him actually growl in her ear. gross.
"Okay so just don't split up with me once we walk in, alright?" Rae exclaims as we reach the front door of the Hemmings household. I had to admit, I was frightened, what if Luke was still awake and ready to pounce, what if he tried to make a move on Rae? So many doubts ran through my head, and each of them made my pretty uncomfortable, but i just had to suck it up I guess.
"okay." i replied. We had all ended up on the front porch, and being the most confident of us five, Michael decided to take the doorknob into his right hand, the other one occupied by Harley's, and twisted it open to reveal a large amount of intoxicated kids, everywhere.
every corner was filled with either couples making out on the couch, a guy throwing up into his own cup, or provacotive dance moves being done by horny teenage girls.
Calum followed behind me, eyes wide as we both scampered around the living room with Rae infront of us. It was so different then any other place i'd ever seen. not only was Luke's living room bigger then my entire house in general, but the amount of people here was just insane. I was scared to death, but amazed more then anything.
