"Oh c'mon, I'll buy!" Rae turned to me, blocking my view of the sidewalk path we were on. We had been walking down the street toward Rae's house for the past twenty minutes now, it would've been shorter if we weren't purposely trying to walk slow so that we could spend more time together walking? But we liked being together like this.

Rae apparently had a massive craving for ice cream though, and coincidently there was a shop just as we turned the corner, and Rae was jumping up and down, begging me to stop by.

"Even if I did say yes you wouldn't be buying." I sigh, Rae locking her pinky with mine as she walks backwards, her feet reaching more and more closer to the shop. I was slowly giving up.

"What a gentlemen." Rae chuckles, angelic as always, and if you hasn't guessed what happened next, we'll lets just say I gave in. Rae could make me do anything, like I said.

Rae squealed, balling her hands in fists and jumping up and down like a child on Christmas morning. It was the most adorable thing I had ever seen.

She was the most adorable thing I had ever seen.

I didn't understand how she could be so amazingly cuddly, yet so rock and roll that it hurts, all at once. I wanted to hold her into my body under a humongous blanket all day, but then again I wish I had the courage to go to peoples houses and throw eggs at their windows with her. That's what it was like with her, nothing made sense. But some how I was totally alright with that.

We both reach the cozy little ship, me holding open the door for her. She smiled at me after I did, probably coming up with some silly little joke about how much of a gentlemen I was.

I waltzed up to the counter, met by a tired looking teenager. He had a white hat on, the top of it labeled with a Sam's Ice Cream. His hand rested underneath his chin as if he looked miserable. Well he did look miserable, but nothing was better them working at an ice cream parlor, so I didn't understand the glum look.

As Rae stares at the menu, her lips curved in concentration. Her pinky dropped from mine, and accidentally, my hand fell to her waist. She didn't seem to mind, so I didn't see a reason to move it away.

"Can I get anything for you?" The lazy cashier says, his eyes falling on mine as his arm moves from under his head , slightly standing up straight but not quite as he slouched terribly.

"i'll just get a chocolate molt thing, those seem good." Rae exclaims.

"i'll take the same, thanks." i nod at the boy as he got up from his chair and waltzed away into the small kitchen area behind him it wasn't big but it was big enough to hold all the different cups and toppings and things.

i begin to take my wallet out of the front pocket of my jeans, my back one being occupied with my phone and mini comic book. Rae's hand stops me though. it whips gently onto my shoulder after that, stroking up and down the base of my arm slowly. it was a complete lie if i said it turned me on.

"You don't have to pay for this, really, i dragged you here." Rae made a good point, but I sure as hell was not going to let her pay.

"don't be such a girl." i teased Rae. Her cheeks turned a certain tint of red and i was proud of myself for making her blush. I rarely made her blush, but when i did i had a new found confidence laying itself out in my body every time.

Rae shoves her hands back in her pockets, and at first i thought she was reaching for her money, and i was about to pounce on the girl, but i then continued to peacefully count the bucks in my hand again as i realize shes just resting her hands in her pockets.

"that will be six dollars, and thirty cents." the boys mumbles with his face down and the chocolate cones sitting in the cups of his hands. I drop the money onto the counter, one of the nickles i had thrown in there falling to the floor.

"sorry-" I was about to bend down and pick it up, but Rae beat me to it. i had never seen a girl's ass right in front of me, and i knew damned well that it was wrong, but i did what every guy does, and looked at Rae's butt. It was round and looked so grabable, and it made my head spin, but i try to stop myself from the eruption of dirty thoughts, and look back up at the kid over the counter.

The kid that i thought never had a smile, wore a thin smirk on his face as he looked me in the eyes as if he knew what i was thinking. i narrowed my eyes at him as if telling him that it was just normal. and it was normal, or so i think, that guys naturally look at bums ever so often.

"thank you!" the boy cheerfully yells as Rae and I walk out of the shop. i scoff over my shoulder at the boy and look back at Rae, licking the close clean as quick as she could as the sun erupted over us and began to melt the ice cream, even though it was winter.

We both walk down the street even more, calmed down from the ice cream and just walking and talking now. it was silent, but the air was not filled with an awkward sensation, but filled with happiness. It was like we were having a conversation with our brains, telling each other to be calm.

"ash?" Rae suddenly asks.

"Yeah, Cullens?" i continue to call her by her last name even though she started calling me ash and ashton.

"when can i meet your mom?" as the words tumbled from her mouth, i felt my throat close up and a headache grew out of nowhere.

No way. No way Rae would meet my mother. Not that she was a bad gal and hat i thought she would'nt like her, but i was afraid that my mom would pinch her cheeks or call her baby by accident. especially that  baby.

This was going to be a long day.
