"Hey, Irwin." I heard a voice sway in my direction. I turn my head to see a smirking Rae. For the past two weeks, Rae has oddly been coming to her locker more often. For some reason, she never carried a bag around much anymore.

"Hey, Cullens." I reply. Rae and I had gotten closer in the past two weeks. Ever since the day I came over to her house to study, she has been really nice to me. She hasn't come to my house yet, but I wasn't complaining.

If Rae had come ever come over to my house to study, my mom would flip. Even if I tried to sneak her in, she would eventually find out about it. I didn't want my mom to go fool women and start pinching Rae's cheeks or something.

I shove my books into my locker, not really caring where they end up since it was Friday. Rae slings her bag over her shoulder as I do the same, and we begin to walk down the hallways slowly, just enjoying each other's presence.

"What are you doing tonight?" Rae asks out of nowhere.

"I have to work, actually." I say ruffling up my hair. I would cancel every plan I had just to hang out with Rae if I could.

"Oh." She says and looks down at our walking feet. "Well maybe I could join you." She smiles up at me.

"What do you mean?" I question her.

"I mean, maybe I could hang out with you while you do your thing." She says, bumping my elbow with her shoulder. We were already walking out the front doors of the crowded school. I hold open the door for her as she mumbles a quick 'thank you' and we continue trudging toward each other's houses.

"I don't know, it's really boring. I just stack shoes the whole time." I say along with an awkward chuckle.

"Well even if it is just shoe stacking, I'm coming with you wether you like it or not." She says crossing her arms. I roll my eyes teasingly and she hits my arm with her fist lightly. I loved when she did little flirtatious things like that.

"Really, you don't have to-" she cuts me off by stopping us and lifting her index finger to my mouth, shushing me from speaking again.

"Uh, yeah I do. So don't fight it." She says. I nod and wait for her to take her finger off of my mouth but she just keeps her finger still and laughs at me.

I reached the tip of my tongue to her finger and licked it. Immediately she dropped her hand and started rubbing the left over saliva on my shoulder and I burt out with laughter.

"You fucker!" She yells at me and punches my arm yet again. "You're disgusting."

We just continue laughing together whilst we walk down the street. We talked a little bit about Luke and how she wishes he was a nicer guy. Rae constantly talked about Luke. It was sort of annoying, but I never payed attention. I always watched her lips when she talked instead of actually putting my full attention to what she was talking about.

At first I thought that Rae and Luke were perfect for each other. Both of them were popular, both genuinely pretty people, and both mean. But after the time being, I had gotten to know Rae better, and she wasn't as aggressive and rude as I thought. She still broke the rules, but on the inside she was actually really timid and secluded. I liked it.

Soon after, we stopped walking and stopped in front of Rae's house. She offered me to hang out in her house until I had to leave for work, but I refused. Her dad wasn't home or anything, I wasn't afraid, but I just wanted to get ready for work early since it would just basically be me and Rae the whole time.

"I'll just walk by to her you in an hour." I say and turn around, my hands finding their ways into my two front pockets.

"Cool." I wait for her to unlock her door and get inside before leaving, my dad always reminded me to make sure the lady got inside okay before leaving to be polite.
