Chapter 13: Jace

You hesitated for a while, is he safe...? You thought. "If you're wondering if you could trust me, you can. Everyone from this town knows me so don't worry about it" Jace said. "How did you-"before you could finish your sentence, Jace chuckled and said "it's all over your face". Suddenly a little girl runs towards Jace "Jace, can you help me,  that wall is about to collapse! " the girl pointed out the wall on the opposite of the road worried. He pulled out a wand and pointed at the wall that was about to collapse and cast a spell "Sanito Lumen! " the wall returned to it's normal state within no time. "Thanks Jace. " the girl thanked him and walks away.  "That was so cool! " you gasped in amazement.  "That's the job of the town wizard " he grins.  "Now, lets go, its getting dark now." He started walking. You quickly followed him since you don't have a choice and you don't have enough money to stay at a hotel or something.

After walking next to Jace for a while, he stops at a Japanese styled house and steps into the house. "Come on in!" He said cheerfully. You went in his house after him. "Please, make yourself at home~Is tea okay with you?" Jace gave you a warm smile. "Yeah, tea will do. " you replied him with a smile while you sat down on the sofa as Jace walks into the kitchen to prepare tea.  You saw some photos hanging on the wall and you stand up to take a closer look at them. You notice a little boy with mismatched eyes and there was a girl who looked slightly older than him and two adults standing in front of the house you are currently in. When Jace walks out the kitchen,  he puts the tea down and walks up to you. "What are you looking at? " he looks where you're looking. "Is that your parents and your older sister? " you asked. "Yeah, unfortunately, they passed away in an accident, this picture was taken when we first moved here. " he replied with a weak smile on his face. "I miss them... " he added.  "I'm sorry for your loss.... " you said.  "Don't sweat it~There's no use being depressed. Keep your head up and you'll find happiness eventually ~" he replied. "Now then, drink your tea before it gets cold, I'll get the guest room ready" Jace chuckled and walked into a room. After a while, you finished your tea and Jace came out from that room. "You'll sleep in this room okay? If you need anything, just tell me~ my room is just next to yours. I'm going to bed, good night (y/n)~" Jace smiled and went to his room. You thanked him and went to bed after washing the teacups.
