Chapter 24 🌜

Justin's pov:

Raegan said he would come back to my room soon when he left. It's been two hours. I finally decide to get off my lazy ass, that's been in bed for hours, and go downstairs. I open my bedroom door and make my way down the stairs quietly. I stop and go slower once I hear talking from the room next to the stairs.

"Dean you know how dangerous that is. I can't keep him here alone."

"Well he can't come, that's even more dangerous."

"Yes but I'll protect him. Ugh! I'll talk to him."

I get to the bottom of the stairs and the floor makes a creak. They both look at me.

"Talk to who about what?" I ask. They both stay silent. They look at each other then back at me.

"Justin?" Rae asks.

"Yes?" He's making me nervous, because he seems nervous.

"Let's to upstairs." He says coming over to me, grabbing my hand. He leads me upstairs into his room, shutting the door.

"What's going on babe?" I ask. He seems so rushed and exited, not in a good way.

"Jay I- i need to- ugh." He doesn't know what he's saying. He sits on his bed and rests his elbows on his knees, looking down at the ground.

"You know you can talk to me. What's happening?" I ask him in a soothing voice. Whatever he needs to tell me is not going to be easy. I start to sweat mentally.

"I-i have another mission." He stutters.

"Oh Is it really bad or?" I stop to see if there is something worse he needs to say or anything.

"I need to go away." He says.

"What do you mean? Alone?"

"No. With the boys." He says starting to play with his thumbs.

"What about me?"

"You need to...you need to stay here, alone."

"F-for how long?" I ask.

"4 days, maybe more."

I look at him in shock. How could he just leave me here for 4 days by myself?

"Raegan I can't stay here by myself." I tell him. He gets up from the bed and comes over to me.

"I'm sorry baby, but you can't come with us."

"Why not?"

"It's way to dangerous."

"So? It's dangerous here too. If I come with you, I won't be in danger because I'll have you." I explain. He shakes his head.

"You know how I've been lately, you're not safe with me where we are going." He says.

"How are you just going to leave me here Rae? Anything can happen."

"I talk to Dean and everyone else. None of us think you should come. I'm sorry I can't put you in danger." He tells me. He tries to pull me closer to him but I back away.

"Justin stop."

"No. His could you even think about leaving me on my own."

"Its not safe." He says.

"I'm not safe either way. But you decided to just leave me home?" I raise my voice a little.

"Please baby I-"

"Stop. No. I can't believe you."

I run past him out of the room. I run to my room and slam the door. Tears slide down my cheeks as I walk to my bed. I sit on the edge of it and wipe my tears as best I can but they keep coming.

*knock knock*

I know it's Raegan. I don't say anything.

*knock* "Justin please. Im only trying to keep you safe, I love you so much." He says from the other side of the door.

"Please Rae leave me alone." I say. After I say that, it's quiet.

"I need to leave tomorrow morning. Please, we need to talk before I do. I'll leave you alone for now." He says and then it's quiet again. Only this time it stays quiet. I hear faint footsteps walking away from my door.

I am mad at him. I know he's trying to keep me safe, but I don't want him to leave me. Here? By myself? I don't want to, I can't. What if something happens. What if someone comes and tries to kill me? He has so many enemies, I've probably only seen and heart of a quarter of them.

I bring my knees to my chest and stare at my bed. I'm scared. I love him too, but I couldn't say it at the moment.

•1 hour later•

After an hour of sitting on my bed, thinking and playing on my phone. I decide, maybe I should talk to Rae. I understand he just what's to keep me safe.

I get up from my bed and go to exit my bedroom. I walk down the hall until I reach Raegan's room. My arm slowly goes up to the door and I knock.

"Come in."

I open the door to see Raegan in front of a big bag on his bed. He has a lot of equipment on the bed. He just be packing for his mission. I focus on his face after I see what he's doing. His face if red and wet from tears. He sniffs his nose multiple times as he stares at me.

"C-can we t-talk?" He asks sounding like he is about to start crying again.

"Yes baby we can. Sit down." I tell him. He sits on his bed and wipes his tears. I feel bad for getting mad now.

"I'm sorry Justin. I'm sorry I can't succeed to keep you safe. I'm sorry about my whole past and what I've done. Why is it firing back at me now? Why now? Why when I have you? Why when I'm finally genuinely  happy after 4 years? Why why?" His lips quiver as he finishes. I sit on his lap carefully and lift his head up.

"Hey hey look at me." I tell him. He does. I can see the hurt in his eyes. How sad he is. How he feels so horrible for all of this.

"I'll be okay. I just need you to be okay while you are on this mission."

"No I don't care about me. You need to be safe here by yourself. But what if something happens and I can't get to you or-"

"Hey shhh calm down." I hug him and he cries into my chest. I play with his hair to try and calm him down. It didn't work too good.

"I have a phone, I'll call you if anything happens. I will be just fine, alright." I'm trying to stay positive for him, even though I'm scared myself.

"I know your scared Justin. And I know you don't mean that because you don't know if anything can happen. I promise won't let anything happen to you." He says.

"Don't worry about me. You need to keep your head high and fight. Fight until you have nothing left. Do your best for me. But be careful, I don't want to se you get hurt babe."

"I'll try." Is all he says, but I know he means it.

"Let's get some sleep, I'll help you pack tomorrow before you go." I say.

He nods and moves all of his stuff off of the bed. We both move up so we are up at the pillows. We lay down and face each other. He wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me until I can't get any closer to him. I smile at myself and put my arm over his body as well.

"I love you Justin. We will get though this together, even though we really aren't going to be together. I'll always protect you, you are always before me."

"I love you too Raegan. We got this together? Promise?"

"I 100% promise love." He says and kisses my forhead. I trust him 100%.

All my thoughts drain as I fall asleep without even knowing.
