Chapter 4

I woke up the next morning with a strange feeling, I couldn't quite place my finger on it but I had a funny feeling that it had something to do with the Roscoe family. I peeked my head out from under the covers slightly so I could see what the movement was in the kitchen, once again I found Sienna and Patrick deep in discussion but this time I couldn't hear what they were saying but I sensed that it was about me because of the way that Sienna kept glancing over at me whilst they were talking. I was about to break up their little discussion when I was stopped by Maxine who wondered out of her bedroom looking cheerful and ready for the day ahead of her until she glanced at me and I saw disapproval wash over her face.

"Don't worry Max I was just getting up." I told her and wandered to the coffee machine to get the boost of caffeine that I seriously needed.

"Didn't get a lot of sleep?" Maxine asked me and I thought for a moment that I saw a flash of concern in her eyes.

"Nah. Nothing I can't handle though." I answered and downed my black coffee and headed towards the bathroom.

The thing was that I never really slept and Maxine knew that, I had trouble with my insomnia most of the time. Where I used to live I would go for a nighttime run to try and clear my head and help me get some sleep but the rumours about all the murderers in Hollyoaks made me a bit uneasy about doing that. I was used to it so like I had told Maxine it was nothing I couldn't handle.

Patrick stood in the kitchen looking confused about my last comment to Maxine but I guessed that he was more worried that I may of overheard him and his precious Sienna talking about me as I always seemed to be a hot topic of theirs in the morning. I had a feeling that they didn't like me from the minute that I first met them due to the way they were around me but I also had a feeling that they didn't like Freddie either so I was glad that I wasn't alone.

After showering and drinking another cup of coffee I was ready for a fun day of learning, Patrick told me that I had to attend lessons as he hadn't been impressed with me sneaking off the day before. I was glad I had snuck out to go shopping though because I was comfortably dressed in a pair of skinny jeans and a t-shirt which meant that I no longer looked like a hooker. I didn't think that many people knew that I lived with the head teacher so I decided to keep it that way and decline Mr Blake's offer of a ride to the sixth form.

I regretted that decision because it rained on my way but I wasn't too bothered, people had already formed their opinion of me so turning up looking a drowned rat would probably just add fuel to the fire. The good thing was when I got to sixth form I managed to make my way to the girls toilets without any hassle so I could attempt to dry myself under the hand dryers before going to my first lesson which was English Lit with Mr McQueen but Mr Blake had already told me that he was subbing that lesson so he could assess how I was settling in and could give some feedback to Maxine.

I looked up from attempting to dry my t-shirt when the door went to find Phoebe walking into the toilets she just rolled her eyes at me and went into one of the stalls. When she came back out she finally decided to acknowledge that I was there.

"You know George tried to help you yesterday but you just threw it back in his face." She told me without even lifting her head.

"What?" I honestly I had no idea what she was talking about.

"He warned you about Robbie but as soon as he turned up yesterday you just dropped everybody for him."

"What was I supposed to do? I hardly know the guy and you just expect me to be warned off him, he was a laugh which is more than I can say about that Holly girl who made it clear that I wasn't wanted with you guys." Phoebe dried her hands on the drying next to me but I could see that she was taking in everything that I had just said to her.
