(Crystal)
It was eerily quiet, and I immediately got the heebie-jeebies. I shivered, rubbing my arms, and doing a 360 with my head as I moved closer to Scott.
"Do you feel that?" Scott whispered into my ear, bending slightly. Goosebumps raised on his arms as well. He ran his eyes over my arms covered with goosebumps.
"Yea, it's..." I looked up into his eyes, "it's almost unnatural."
"That's the best way to describe it," he nodded in agreement.
Something fell to our left, and I jumped a foot into the air. I seized the sleeve of his leather jacket with my long fingers, and hid my face in the crook of his elbow.
Scott wasn't fazed, just looked at me in surprise, "Crystal Mason, afraid of a little bang?"
"Gosh, it's like a haunted house in here, and don't you make fun of me," I raised my head to his. "If you're not afraid of haunted houses, you lead."
"Okay," he shrugged.
"A typical guy," I rolled my eyes. He resumed walking, and I shuffled behind him, head hid between his broad shoulders.
(Scott)
It did have that haunted house feel, I would give her that. I caught a whiff of Puck, and knew what was coming. He jumped out as Crystal turned to look behind us, with a clown mask on. She shrieked and punched him in the face, pushing me forward. I began to laugh so hard I fell next to Puck, as he pulled off the mask.
"You lousy, no-good punks," she grumbled, stomped over, and plucked the mask from Puck's hand and ripped it in half. We choked on our own laughter and scrambled to our feet.
"What are you doing here anyways, Puck. I thought you were with Kira?" she snapped.
"She's trying to pin-point where they are," Puck narrowed his eyes on us. "Aren't you supposed to be at the car?"
"It's a long story," I spoke.
While Crystal snapped back with, "None of your bee's wax."
A scream echoed through the vast hallways of the massive mall.
Crystal stumbled back, eyes rolling to the back of her head. I lunge, an arm around her waist before she hit the ground. I turn her around and pull her back to my chest, while backing up against the wall. She convulsed, and Puck moved in.
"No, stay back and let me handle this," I held her tiny waist with both arms around it. She seized up, and Puck's face paled, as a shiver ran down her spine. This lasted for about five minutes, I cocked my head to see her eyes go from white, black, to blue, and then settling into her yellow. "Are you okay?"
"Yea, I just-" she began, when a whistling sound came whizzing around the corner. Her hand flew out, stopping a gleaming silver arrow from penetrating Puck's chest.
"Holy sh- Think good thoughts, good thoughts, like how I'm not dead," Puck's eyes were wide as silver dollars.
Crystal and I glanced at each other, "Hunters."
"Umm, don't mean to interrupt," Puck was frozen in place, staring at the arrow. "But what are Hunters?! And is this arrow going to kill me?!!"
Crystal dropped her hand, and the arrow fell with it as more whistling sounds approached. She jumped to her feet, pulling me with her. She handled the fast approaching arrows, while I busted through the paper thin wall, and pulled Puck in with me. She sprang through the hole, and ducked next to me. An arrow whizzed overhead, and we ducked our heads down, hands above our heads. When I raised my eyes, they landed on Puck, who was staring at the death-dealing head of the arrow. The silver gleamed and I inched away.
