"Do you think she was telling the truth about everything in there?" I looked around as we rushed into a cab, Adrian and Hugh directly behind us.

"Step on it," Crystal ordered the cab driver.  He floored it, and I started to say something.  Crystal discreetly shook her head no.  "You can drop us off here."

The driver pulled over, "Are you sure?  This place has been abandoned for a while.  We are pretty sure it's haunted."

"We're sure," Crystal spoke as Adrian and Hugh shook their heads with fear in their eyes.

"Crystal.  Pssst, Crystal," Adrian got her attention away from paying the cab driver.

"What Adrian?"  she sighed, leaning down to meet his eyes from her spot on the sidewalk.

"I don't do ghosts," he deadpanned, as Hugh and I got out, standing next to her.

"Okay, tell Kira I said hi," she slammed the door shut.  Adrian growled and scrambled to get out.

"I can't believe I'm going into a haunted house," he mumbled, staying behind us.

"I don't think it's haunted. This is my home," Crystal gazed up at the Victorian mansion.  We started walking up the steps.

"You don't think?!   Really, sis, you need to know if your own house is haunted," Adrian exclaimed following behind us.

"Yea, well, a lot of people lost their lives in this house," Crystal rested her fingers on the lock and the door swung open, squeaking scarily.

"That is not a comforting sound," Adrian winced.  "You know what comes to mind?  Murders, horror shows, serial killer," he faded off as we entered.  She turned in a circle with her eyes closed.  Her hand shot out and objects flew into her palm.  She didn't touch them, instead, she piled them up neatly on the floor.  She lifted her foot up and slammed it down on top of the black objects.

"Impressive," Adrian whistled.  "In high heels, too."  He brushed past Hugh to get into the kitchen and started to scrounge for food.

"Bugs," she bolted up the dark wood stairs.

"Didn't she like, you know, sever her artery, or did that not happen?" Hugh studied me, closely.

"You don't want to know," I went into the kitchen, helping them raid it.

I could hear the boys teasing and messing around downstairs as I walked into my father's room.  It still smelled like him, spice and woods.  Laughter rang up the rafters, and I drifted into a memory.

"Do it again," my father ordered.  I did the move, but had no power behind it.  "Do it again."

"Dad, we have been working on this all day," I bent with my hands on my knees.  "I'm really tired."

"Then find the strength, Crystal.  Your life may depend on you finding the strength to push through.  You have to have the determination to dig deeper for the strength I know you possess," he bent over to meet my gaze.

"Where do you find the strength, Dad?" I asked, standing back up.

"Right here," he pointed to his heart.  "Do it again."  I could still hear his voice saying it.

"Crystal?" Adrian yelled, moments later when I didn't answer immediately, he spoke again to the boys down there with him, "She was kidnapped by ghosts, guys!  This house is haunted."

"I'm up here," I shouted, smiling, and thinking, "What is his deal with the ghost thing?"  I turned to approach his desk, and stumbled back at the dark, tall figure in the doorway.  I grab a lamp to my left as I went into my fighting stance.  Scott stepped into the light, smirking.  "Jeez!  Scott," I growled his name.  "You scared the living daylights out of me!  Jeez," I harrumphed, and placed the lamp down, frowning.  How did he sneak up on me?  No one can sneak up on me.  I shook my head as I pulled his desk draw open and popped the false bottom out.  I placed my hand on the scanner.  Dust flew as walls, the closet, and drawers slid open to reveal all kinds of weapons, much like Melanie's in her secret room.  The other two boys tramped into the room.  Without turning, I spoke, "Don't touch that Adrian."  He did it anyway, and the dart, containing deadly poison, flew about the room, heading in Hugh's direction.  The boys shouted warnings, but Hugh was frozen.  In a flash, I snatched the dart out of the air, using my mind, I directed it right beside Adrian's head.  He winced and opened his eyes to see it right beside his head.  He cursed and jumped away.  "Like I said, don't touch it," I grabbed a new duffel and transferred my stuff into the new bag, using my old one to throw weapons into.

"What is the plan?" Scott grabbed a bag and threw weapons into it.

"Get into his office, erase his program, free the werewolves, and kill him," I bluntly told them.  "Here," I threw them bullet proof vests.  "Put those on."   They slipped them over their T-shirts.

"That's it?" Adrian cocked his head at me.

"Well," I dragged out the word.  They stared at me, stopping what they were doing.

"What does that mean?" Scott narrowed his eyes on me.

"You're not going to like it," was all I said.
