(Scott)
She held out an envelope, and I took it from her, stuffing it into my back pocket. She began to speak, her face hard.
"Scott, you have to let me go," she looked away.
"What are you talking?" then it dawned on me. "You have already seen what is going to happen haven't you?"
"Kinda," she forced a smile. A crash, and men busted through the windows and doors. It was Rowan's men.
"Come on, Crystal," I yelled grabbing her hand. But she pulled her hand away, shaking her head as she backed away.
"I can't go with you Scott. This is where we separate," she shouted over the chaos.
"I'm not leaving without you!" I lunge forward, and took her head in my hands. "I told you I would never leave you. I'm not starting now!"
She put her grayish hands over mine, "You don't have a choose."
"Yes, I do and I'm not leaving you," my voice broke. "Please, Crystal, I can't leave you."
"You have to let me go," she whispered softly, her face close to mine.
"Crystal Mason, I have been in love with you since the day we met in Eagle. I won't let you go. Crystal, I'm in love with you," I caressed her cheeks.
She vibrantly smiled as tears filled her eyes, and she ran a hand down my face. "Scott, I love you with my whole heart, but I'm dying, and I will not let you love a dying girl. So if you love me, you will let me go." Shouts echoed through the house, as Adrian and Hugh busted in.
"I love you," I whispered, and my mouth met hers.
She pushed me away, tears running down her cheeks, "Get out of here!"
Adrian nodded and pulled me away. My heart twisted, and a heavy weight filled my chest. I fought against them but they dragged me out of the room as men in black filed into it. She smiled at me, as the men hit behind her knees and she crumbled to the ground, guns pointed at her head. Her eyes met mine and I felt her pain and sorrow. I heard a soft voice in my head, saying, "Fall asleep." That was the last thought I remembered.
When I awoke I had a massive headache. I remembered everything, I jerked up, but Adrian put his hands on my shoulders. I brushed him off, staring coldly at him. "You didn't save her. How could you do that?"
"Don't look at me like I don't care. She is my sister. Do you think it was easy for me to leave her there? No, it was the hardest thing I had ever been asked to do," Adrian punched the wall.
"What do you mean asked?" I scoffed.
"The note she gave me, the time was right before the attack, and it said to pull you away. So I did," he paced about the room.
"Someone was inside my head, Adrian. They forced me to go to sleep," I scarily remember.
"Oh, that was Melanie. Apparently she received an envelope too," Adrian waved it off.
"Where is Hugh?" I got off of the couch.
"Off with his instructions," Adrian lounged on the love-seat with a bag of Doritos. He went to town on those with a bottle of water.
"How can you be eating right now?" I ran my hands through my black hair.
"Dude, don't judge me, and besides, it's a full moon tonight, which means-"
"That the shift is a stronger urge," I finished for him.
"Yup," he munched on his chips.
"Do you know what Hugh was supposed to do?" I asked catching the bag of Cheetos he threw to me.
