We were starring at each other for God know how long. He hadn’t changed that much from the last time I saw him almost 2 years ago. Same sandy blonde hair, maybe a bit longer and the same hazel brown eyes he had. Eyes that back then, was adore to look into.
-Um..Ok that’s awkward. Keith stated breaking the silence first
-Do you know her Derek? Chloe asked her voice confused.
-Yeah… He replied still not tearing his eyes off of me as a smile start appearing on his face. I mentally slapped myself because for a stupid reason my heart start beating faster
-Um guys? It’s getting weird. Gabriel said. Finally we broke eye contact and Chloe hugged her brother. Now, I knew Derek had a sister named Chloe, younger than him and around my age but would never guessed it was her. When we were dating, it was summer and Derek had told me how happy and lucky he was that his annoying little sister spend her summer holidays with her friends in Italy. Who would have guessed it was her?
-Missed me? He teased her and she rolled her eyes.
-Gabriel and Keith this is Derek my brother. They all give handshake and the Derek, joined us sitting right beside me. I sifted uneasy in my place and with my hand shaking I finished my drink
-Gonna get another one. I announced to the small group since the others where still dancing and I headed toward the bar
I gave my order –whisky this time- and I waited until he came beside me
-Hey stranger. He said loud too be heard over the loud music. I turned to him sighing. Last time we spoke was back when I found him and Keira on my couch making out and 2 days later that he tried to apologize to me.
-Yeah… Hey. I replied rolling my eyes
-Look Monica, I had regret this okay? I regretted it since that very moment back then and I- I lifted my palm out to him, cutting him off
-Don’t. Seriously don’t.
-Ok I’m gonna stick around here for a while, not at college but at the town. Want us to try over again? Start as friends and see how it goes? He asked me
I thought of that. Derek had heart me a lot and he was the reason why I was so afraid of relationships. On the other hand it’s been 2 whole years and we both had moved on and such right?
-I guess…I guess we can try. I replied at the bartender gave me my drink.
-Thanks. And Monica I’m really sorry. Don’t know what got into me it wasn’t like I intended for it to happen you know? It’s just…Happened. And I’m sorry you have no idea how sorry I am Monica. His hazel brown eyes locked with mine waiting for me to say something. As a reply I just shook my head. I couldn’t trust him nor believe him yet.
-Let’s go. I said and start walking with Derek following me
Once we reached the table everyone was there. Of course when Cassie saw him she froze. Well for a few seconds at least
