"Adeline! Wake up!" Mom called from outside my door.

"Ugh, I'm up, I'm up!" I responded and almost fell out of bed trying to get up. I grabbed my phone, wondering why the alarm didn't go off. When I saw 4 missed calls from Eve and 2 voicemails, I became worried. I clicked one of the voicemails and held it up to my ear and pulled back after I practically heard screaming.

"Why won't you answer your goddamn phone Aab! Geez, I thought I told you that you were going to pick me up!" Evelyn screamed into the phone. I cursed silently and quickly got dressed in more sweats and a giant T-shirt. While racing out the door, I remembered to grab my backpack and keys. Starting the ignition, I backed out of the driveway and drove down the street. I decided to pick Pierce up first since he was closest. When I got there he was already running out the door and jumped into the passenger side. I tried to tell him he shouldn't sit there but he shushed me and told me to drive. So I drove to Eve's and called her to tell her I'm in front. She stomped out the door angrily and her face grew redder when she saw Pierce in the front seat.

"Yea I don't think so. Come on, back seat for you." Eve attempted to open the door.

"No! I want to sit here for once!" Pierce stuck his tongue out at Eve.

"Come on Pierce, I don't want to deal with this today," I groaned and laid my head on the steering wheel.

"I would listen to her," Eve said, her hand still trying to open the door that Pierce locked.

"That's not fair! I never get the front seat!! And I've been gone for the past 2 weeks Aab," Pierce complained and they started going at each other through the closed window.

I groaned louder," Evelyn just get in the back! It doesn't matter where you sit!!" I yelled. Evelyn started complaining quietly to herself and crawled into the back seat, slamming the door roughly closed. "And don't you dare take your anger out on my car. Especially if you want a ride from her again," I glared at her through my mirror and Eve rolled her eyes but said nothing. We drove to school silently with just the music playing softly. Just before I pulled into the school, Pierce threw something behind him and hit Eve in the face.

"What the hell Pierce! What is your problem?!" Evelyn shouted and shot out of her seat to throw herself at him. They were pushing each other and knocking things around everywhere. I parked next to Maisie and saw everyone was standing around chatting. I tried to push them off of each other but to no avail and so I sighed deeply and got out of the car, shutting the door behind me. I hate it when I have to drive both of them to school.

"Hey guys, what's up?" I asked everyone but then heard a loud clash come from my car and everyone turned to stare at them. They landed on the floor with the door wide open.

"Dammit Pierce! Get off of me!" Evelyn kicked around trying to get Pierce off of her. Pierce was trying not to laugh as he held her down even more. "I swear, when I get my hands free, you will be so sorry." She said through clenched teeth.

"And when will that be?" He snickered. "Because right now, I don't think that's going to happen," Evelyn tried to slip through his grip but he just tightened it, without hurting her. She suddenly stopped trying and laid very still. Pierce's face frowned in confusion and he slowly started to loosen his grip. Then Eve jumped up and sat on him.

"Looks like you're the one that's in trouble now," Eve's face broke out into an evil smile and she lifted her hands. Pierce's eyes widened in fear and he tried to scoot away from her but her weight held him down. Then she brought her hands down and started tickling him. He was laughing loudly while trying to get her off of him.

"Okay okay! You win!" Pierce yelled with tears in his eyes.

"What's that? I can't understand what you're saying," Evelyn innocently said while tickling him even more.

"I said you win!!! You can ride in the first seat from now on!" He said and Eve stopped tickling him, satisfied. "Over my dead, sexy body!" And just like that, Pierce turned them over where he was on top now and started doing the same to her.

"What sexy body? All I see there is fat!!" She said between fits of laughter.

"Ok guys, time to stop." I said and tried to separate them again but they didn't even move an inch. I looked to Wyatt for help but he wasn't looking at them, he was looking at his phone texting. Sterling seemed to understand what I was trying to do, but failing miserably at it, and so he walked up and helped me pull them apart.

"What the-" Pierce said and looked at Sterling confused. "Who are you?" He asked and dusted himself off. Evelyn got off the ground with Sterling's help and went up to Pierce just to punch him on his chest and run behind Wyatt for protection. Pierce gave Eve an are-you-serious look and turned back to the new people in our group. "Aab, sweetie, I love how I leave for a couple of weeks and I get replaced like that." He said and snapped his fingers.

"We didn't replace you, these are new kids that joined our group is all," Penelope explained.

"Yea, we can never replace someone like you. You're a one-of-a-kind," I said looking up at him. He smiled down at me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder protectively. I glanced at Jace and saw him frown while looking at the arm around my shoulder.

"I am aren't I?" He asked smugly.

"Yea, one-of-a-kind idiot," Eve mumbled loudly, still hiding behind Wyatt.

"I'm really feeling the love Evey," Pierce winked at her and she smiled softly.

"So you must be Pierce. We heard a lot about you, mostly from Aab." Myra walked up to him and shook his hand. "I'm Myra."

"Oh sweetheart, I am the brightest star in the sky. the loudest record player in a silent room, and the sexiest beast on the whole planet." He winked and I rolled my eyes.

"And also the biggest idiot in the universe," Eve added. Myra blushed when Pierce glared playfully at Eve and kissed her hand softly.

"Hey, watch it. That's my little sister," Jace said and walked up to him.

"Ah, and you are?" Pierce looked at me and raised his eyebrow, I just shrugged my shoulder.

"Jace," he said and walked back to his spot without a proper handshake.

"And the one that pulled you away from the scary one is Sterling," Sterling said walking up to him and shaking his hand.

"Yea, she can be scary at times. But I provoke her anyways because it's fun," Pierce chuckled and Sterling joined in. The bell rang and we all separated and headed to our classes. Pierce walked me to my classroom and I asked what he thinks of the newcomers,

"I like them, really," he said and smirked. "But that Jace guy is intersting."

"How so?" I asked.

"When I put my arm around you, did you see his face?" I shook my head, confused. "He frowned, which means he cares and he's jealous." I laughed lightly.

"That's not possible," I said and slapped his arm.

"Actually it is. Trust me, I'm a guy, I know what I'm talking about." He said and kissed my forehead. "I'll see you in our next class, bye Appleseed." And he walked down the hall to his class, leaving me alone with my wondering thoughts about Jace and him being jealous.

I shook my head, 'Of course he's not jealous, why would he be? Especially because of someone like me?' I thought and sighed deeply. Then I walked into my class, unsure about the day ahead.
