Chapter 22: Jace's POV

"Mom and Dad are out on some weekend business trip. They won't be back until Monday afternoon or something like that." Pierce unlocked the door and held it open for everyone. When we got inside Aab set her stuff down and stretched.

"PandaBear, I'm going to put my stuff in your room." She said grabbing her stuff and walking up the stairs. Eve followed her quietly, since apparently Wyatt decided to join.

I watched as she ascended the steps and again stared at her body, enticed. Her small, thin body looked like it was ready to break apart. I wondered why so many people at the school think she's fat. If anything, she's as thin as a twig. When I first saw her this morning I thought it was someone else. But when Penny said Aab I couldn't believe my eyes. She looked... amazing. Even the word amazing doesn't begin to describe how she looked. Her hair was curled down, she had on skinny jeans that outlined her hips and round butt. I honestly couldn't keep my eyes off of her, heck I didn't want to! And those gorgeous grey eyes popped out and shone brightly. I have never seen her this way before, who could ever think badly of her in the first place?

"Jace!" I turned around to look at Myra.

"What?" I asked glancing back at the stairs only to realize that she was no longer there.

"What is going on with you today?" Myra exhaled annoyed. I looked at Sterling and he winked at me, a knowing look on his face.

"Nothing, uh, where do I put my stuff?" I asked as Pierce walked into another room.

"Anywhere!" He yelled and I shrugged my shoulders, kicking my shoes off and dropping my bag.

Since I first met Pierce, he seemed kind of off. I never really tried to put my finger on it but it's weird. Aab seemed really close with him and I wondered if maybe they were going out or had at some point. But Wyatt mentioned that he was gay and a little piece of me was relieved.

"Oop," a pair of hands slammed onto my shoulders and I turned around to see Aab clutching onto me while trying to get her footing. She looked up at me and for a second I was lost in her eyes.

"Aab! How much of a klutz are you?" Eve asked as she walked by us. Aab laughed nervously and slowly lifted her hands from my shoulder, looking away. She stood up straighter and tugged down her shirt but didn't walk away. I looked at her attire again. She has never worn something that shows off her figure before and every time I see her I'm amazed. I still wonder why she won't just prove to all those girls at school how good she really looks instead of wearing those baggy clothes. As I'm staring, I realize that she starts to cross her arms, trying to cover her body.

"What?" She asked quietly, staring at the floor. I couldn't say anything, so I just focused on Myra who was looking around.

It was only a little after 5 in the afternoon and the sun was still high up in the sky. We all left a little earlier to go home and grab a couple of things.

"So Appleseed, when are you going to change into your new bathing suit?" I looked toward Pierce who was standing next to Aab, his eyes flashed toward me and a smirk appeared on his face. Aab rolled her eyes and sighed heavily.

"Seriously Pierce?" She asked and I looked away when her eyes wandered to me.

"Yeah!!! Let's go change and take a dip in the pool before it gets too late!" Eve grabbed Aab's and Myra's hands and dragged them up the stairs with her, Maisie following. Penny was the only one who couldn't stay the night and went home.

"There's another bathroom down that hall," Pierce walked up the stairs after pointing us in the direction of the spare bathroom. Sterling, Andy, Wyatt and I took turns changing into our swim trunks. When we were done we walked outside to where the pool was. It was pretty big, about the size of a basketball court. It went about 18 ft deep and included a diving board and a hot tub. We sat down, waiting for everyone else to come out and join us.

"Hot Damn! Appleseed!!!" Pierce shouted as he walked outside. I heard giggling as Eve, Myra and Maisie walk outside with their towels on their arms. Aab took her time and slowly exited the house with her towel wrapped around her. Her hair was still curled down but she had a ponytail holder on her wrist. I looked at her bare legs and was surprised to see how pale they were. But even though her skin was so pale, she still looked amazing.

Aab quickly walked to a chair and sat down, keeping her towel wrapped securely around her. Eve glanced at her and sighed heavily, dropping her towel on the chair next to her and ran into the pool. Maisie, Myra, Andy, Pierce, and Wyatt were following suit. But Sterling stood off to the side, gingerly dipping his toes into the water and yanking them out.

"The water's really cold," he said looking at me. I shrugged my shoulders and looked away and got up stalking towards Aab.

"Why are you sitting there?" I asked, she glanced at me and blushed, looking back to the others in the pool.

"I just don't feel like getting my hair wet," she said crossing her arms. I sat down next to her. "What are you doing? Go swimming!"

"Nah, it's not much fun when not everyone's swimming. I'll keep you company." I replied and leaned back. Silence engulfed us. For a few seconds we just sat there until I see, from the corner of my eye, Aab turn towards me and fidget with her towel.

"Umm..... D-do you..?...." She muttered something then looked away. After another couple of seconds she turned towards me quickly. "Do you l-like Constance?" She blurted out and I snapped my head her way.

"What?" Aab blushed and looked at her lap not saying anything for a couple of seconds.

"I was just wondering if maybe you were umm, you know, interested in her... never mind, forget I said anything!" She chuckled nervously before opening a book and reading.

I reached over and gently pulled the book away from her, closing it and putting it on the ground. Aab quietly watched my movements and refused to make eye contact.

"Aab," sighing heavily while running a hand through my hair, I contemplated how to answer her. "Look, I'm not interested in Constance at all. She's conceited, rude, bossy, selfish and if I'm being honest here, an overall slut. No better term to describe her. So, no, I am not interested in someone like her, she's not my type." Aab smiled slightly and looked toward the pool.

"I was just wondering," she said and looked at me. We sat there and stared at each other for who knows how long when Aab's name was called.

"Are you getting in or what Appleseed?!" Pierce shouted before he ran and jumped off the diving board. I stood up and held my hand out for her.

"Come on, let's have some fun," she smiled and slipped her hand in mine, letting me pull her up from the chair. I watched as she unwrapped the towel from her body and let it fall on the chair. She wore a white two-piece with a black bow at the top of her bottom piece, just under her belly and another black bow in the middle of the top piece covering her chest. It took more force to look away from her so she doesn't feel uncomfortable.

I felt a hand wrap around my arm softly and turned to look. "Ok, let's go," she smiled at me and we walked toward the pool. Sterling still stood off to the side gingerly dipping his foot in and yanking it out. I rolled my eyes and walked up behind him and shoved him into the pool. His head popped out of the water and he glared at me.

"G-g-g-go-godammit J-j-jace!" I chuckled and walked back over to Aab, offering my arm. She didn't take it this time but ran.

"Last one in is a rotten egg!" I laughed and ran after her. We both jumped into the pool at the same time. "No fair you cheated!" I laughed more and splashed her with water. She pointed behind me and, when I turned around, jumped on top of me and dunked my head underwater. When I lifted my head out, she was swimming away. Full out grinning, I chased after her.
