It took some quiet time with the animals before I was finally back to myself. I kind of felt bad for Eve and the others. I know that I can be pretty scary when I'm provoked and I didn't mean to frighten them. Well, I mean get angry and 'explode' on them. They didn't deserve that, none of it was their fault. After standing up and dusting myself off, I headed to my car deciding that I want to buy them something as an apology.
I arrived at the store and walked inside. But I couldn't figure out what I should buy them. But then it hit me! I had a lot of money saved up and Dad continues to give me an allowance for no reason. So smiling to myself happily, I bought some gum and a soda. When I got home, Mom was in the kitchen cleaning.
"Mom! I'm home," I informed her while shutting the front door and locking it.
"Hey, how was your day?" She asked and I shrugged my shoulders.
"It was... Fine, just fine. And you?" I replied and Mom smiled.
"Oh wonderful! Dinner will be ready in just a bit," I nodded my head and headed to my room. The evening was nice and relaxing, like it ought to be. But Dad would be coming back, and the first thing he would want to do is relax.
By morning, I felt better but still pretty sad. I didn't bother looking at myself in the mirror and just got dressed before heading out for some doughnuts and coffee. I knew what everyone would want but not Sterling, Myra, or Jace. So I ordered the usual and also guessed on what they would like just by their personaltiy. I also bought a few of most of the doughnuts. Chocolate covered, caramel covered, jelly filled, glazed, sprinkled, and powdered. Doughnut feast for breakfast this morning.
I drove into the parking lot at the school and saw everyone crowded around each other talking. I smiled happily and parked next to them. They stared at my car as they waited for me to get out. I walked to the passenger side and opened the door, bending down to pick up the coffee. When I turned back around, I stared at the person closest to me. Jace slowly lifted his eyes to my face and I think he was staring at my butt but didn't say anything. So I turned to the second closest person, Pierce.
"Do you think you could help me out?" I asked as I raised my eyebrow at him. He hurried over to me and grabbed a coffee carrier. Then I took the rest out and sat it on the back of the car. Everyone looked shocked and confused. "I just... wanted to say... I'm sorry," I struggled to let out. Eve came up to me and gave me a hug. I opened the box, displaying all the doughnuts and handed out coffees to Pierce, Eve, Wyatt, Penny, and Maisie. There was still some left over and Jace, Sterling, and Myra looked nervous.
"Are those... For us?" Myra asked slowly. I nodded and looked over at the cups before glancing back at her.
"Sorry, I didn't know what you normally would like so I guessed." I shrugged my shoulder and handed each of them their coffee. They each took a sip and nodded their heads at me.
"It's really good, thanks Aab!" Myra exclaimed. I smiled and picked mine up, drinking it as well.
"Well, again, I didn't know what you guys would like so I mostly got some of everything." I picked up a glazed doughnut and took a bite. They all reached out and grabbed what they wanted. I saw Jace smile faintly and grab a glazed one too. I was surprised, usually I'm the only one who likes to eat glazed ones.
"Thanks Aab! This was really nice of you. And don't bother stressing over the whole 'flippin out' yesterday. It's all behind us now," Pierce spoke for the group as we did our best to finish off the doughnuts. The bell rang and we all walked to our classes. A few classes passed by.
I was walking down the hall when someone started walking with me. I looked over and saw Jace staring ahead but keeping the same pace as me. I slowed and he slowed, I sped up and so did he. I chuckled to myself lightly.
"What's so funny?" He asked taking a glimpse at me. But I just shook my head.
"Nothing, it's just... You're trying really hard to match my pace aren't you?" I asked chuckling again. He smirked and wrapped his arm around my shoulder. But I flinched under his touch and scooted a little away from him. I didn't look at him and continued on my way to class.
"I'll see you later Aab," Jace said as he turned around and walked back the way we came. It took me some time to realize that he walked me to my class even though he might be late for his.
When lunch time rolled around, I walked into the cafe. Some of my friends were in line and I quickly pulled them out. They protested and attempted to go back but I yanked them to our table. Wyatt was about to take a bite of his food but I grabbed it and took his tray, throwing it all away.
"Hey! I was looking forward to that," he complained but I rolled my eyes and counted out everyone.
"Sorry I'm late, teacher wanted to talk to me." Eve rushed to the table and sat down, then frowned as she looked at everyone's empty place on the table. "What's going on? Why don't you have your food?"
"Why don't you ask Aab! She threw my food away," Wyatt complained again glaring sadly at the empty spot where his tray used to be.
"Yea AND pulled us from our spot in the lines. I got there early enough for a decent choice this time!" Pierce piped up. Eve looked at me questioningly.
"Suck it up," I rolled my eyes at them. "... babies..." I mumbled to myself but some people heard me.
"Shut up!" Pierce shouted gaining other people's attention and I crossed my arms. Smirking at him as he attempted to hide his face again.
"Anyway, I'm going to go get some lunch." Eve made a move to get up but I was behind her in a flash and forcing her body back down. "OWWIEE!!! Why, I'm hungry Aab!!!" She complained to me making me roll my eyes again.
"You guys have your school IDs right?" I asked them and they nodded their heads. "Good! Then let's go," I said and started walking out the door.
"Why where are we going?" Penny asked as she followed everyone out of the cafe.
"Let's pile into Wyatt's and Pierce's cars. I call with Pierce and shotgun!" I screamed as I raced to his car. We all separated evenly into the cars. Me, Pierce, Jace, Myra, and Sterling in Pierce's car and everyone else in Wyatt's.
"So where are we going?" Wyatt asked from his open window.
"Where do you guys want to go?" I asked them back.
They looked between each other and all at once screamed, "BOBBY J'S!" I chuckled and nodded my head.
"Ok, Bobby J's it is." I turned to look at the newbies. "You guys ever been there?" I asked them and they shook their heads. "You'll love it there." I smiled at them.
"I'll bet," Myra smiled. When we arrived the manager seated us herself.
"Hey Aab! How's everything?" His wife asked me.
"Everything's fine, Ellie. And you?" I said.
"Just wonderful," she walked back to her spot in the cooking area. We ordered from memory but waited a little for Myra, Sterling, and Jace to decide. We sat around and ate, enjoying each other and our company. Every now and then, Ellie and George sat down with us to join our conversations. When they gave us the check, everyone started to take out their wallets. I held my hand up and they all looked at me.
"Don't worry guys, I got this." Some of them tried to protest but I shook my head. "I'm treating this guys. Don't worry about it," I said and gave them my credit card. Jace and Myra's eyes looked like they held a little relief in them.
"Thanks Aab," Myra said and I waved her off.
"Anyway, we got to go. Bell's going to be ringing soon." I recieved my card back and we headed off back to school.
