Chapter 19
We left the school during the middle of 7th to go and relax Eve. She insisted that we get her nails done so we went to the salon.
"Come on! You get them done too!" Eve laughed as we walked inside. I shook my head at her and smiled. "Trust me, they make the best designs on the nails. This is my favorite place to go to."
"I don't know Eve..." The counter lady looked up at us as we approached the counter. Eve explained her problem about getting me to have them done and the girl, called Stacy, opened a book showing most of the designs that they can do. Eve pointed one out that was dark grey and had a certain design, in black, on top. I sighed deeply before nodding my head and we were practically shoved onto a chair where the manicurists did their work.
After about 30 minutes, our nails were semi dry and we left to go buy something to eat. We sat in the restaurant for a while before heading back out to buy some ice cream cones. Then we headed back to Eve's house to pack up the rest of their stuff and start transporting it to my house.
"Mom left yesterday early in the day and we should be getting updates every week or so." Eve said as we stuffed some containers in the back of my car. Then we filled the trunk with their clothes filled suitcases and cleaned out her fridge. "Don't know how long we're going to stay at your house but I don't want to have moldy food in the fridge while we're gone."
When I sat in the car and waited for Eve to grab a couple more things, my phone went off.
"Hey Aab, we changed the friend's night out." Myra said. "We're going to meet up at the mall tomorrow morning at about 10:30. Can you tell Eve too please?"
"Yea sure. See you guys there," I replied and hung up the phone just as Eve climbed in.
"Who was that?" She asked me.
"Oh that was Myra, apparently we're still on for the friend's night out thing but they changed it to meeting at the mall tomorrow morning." I shrugged my shoulders.
"But what about Andy?"
"He can come with us; I'm pretty sure that Myra's only 15." Eve nodded and we drove to the other high school that Andy attends. It was built for geniuses, like Andy. Who is way smarter than he should be. When we got there, Andy jumped up and ran to the car.
"Hey good lookin'," Andy winked at me while squeezing himself into the back next to the bins.
"Keep trying kid," I said and drove out the parking lot. Andy chuckled as he turned to his sister.
"So sis, how was school?" He asked. The way he said it gave me a hint that he's in on the whole 'break up' thing.
"Tiring, Aab just let me fall asleep in the restroom for most of the day and then we skipped that last 2 periods to get our nails down. See?" Eve shoved her hands in his face. Andy smiled as he looked over the work done.
“Nice! I knew my big sis had style. Even though she can be very picky.” Eve playfully slapped him and turned back in her seat. I glanced at him through the rearview mirror and he winked at me. But I knew he wasn’t trying to flirt this time.
“Oh! Andy, we’re going to the mall tomorrow to hang out with friends.” Eve said as she flipped through the radio stations.
“And let me guess. You want me to stay at ‘home’ to unpack,” Andy rolled his eyes and looked out the window.
“Nope, you’re coming with us this time.” She replied.
“Seriously!? I get to hang out with you and your friends? Awesome!” Andy was being sarcastic but I knew that he was secretly very happy. He’s only come with us once before because he’s either too busy studying or hanging out with his other genius friends. We reached the house and got out. Andy helped us take the things out of the car and stuff it downstairs next to the door.
“Ok, Andy gets the guest bedroom while Eve stays with me until I clean up the other one.” I said as we started to the things upstairs. Mom comes walking out of the dirty guest bedroom carrying a box of random items.
“That won’t be necessary, I just finished cleaning it.” Mom set the stuff down on the ground to give us all hugs.
“Thank you for everything Mrs. Birdhy really.” Eve thanked her with a giant smile on her face.
“Anything for you dears; and please, call me Karen,” Mom smiled back and picked the stuff up. “Andy, your room is right across the hall from the girls ok?” Andy nodded at her and smiled, thanking her also. Mom walked downstairs and into the kitchen. “Dinner will be ready in about an hour!”
“Ok!” I shouted back as we started working on unpacking.
After we ate dinner and hung out for a while, we decided to call it a night. We said our goodnights and headed to our separate bedrooms, Eve following after me. When we walked inside, Eve shut the door and turned to me.
“What?” I asked with a raised eyebrow. She was looking everywhere but at me. “Just spit it out would you?”
“I was wondering… Maybe… Umm…” Eve started trailing off.
“Eve!” I said.
“Ok ok,” she held up her hands in surrender and sighed deeply. “Can I do your hair and makeup tomorrow?” She mumbled. I stared at her for a long time. She fidgeted with the hem of her shirt and stared at the floor. I wasn’t really planning to dress up this weekend, but I also need to do my laundry. I looked away and thought about it, then sighed softly and turned back to her. She was still fidgeting with her shirt but she was looking at me shyly.
“I… guess so.” I said making her squeal and jump into my arms.
“Yay!!! Now go to sleep because we have to get up extra early okay!?” I smiled knowing that she was excited about tomorrow even though Wyatt’s going to be there. ‘Probably why she wants to in the first place. Make him jealous,’ I thought and set her on the ground. Most of my bruises should be gone so I can wear a short sleeve tomorrow. She left my room in a hurry, allowing me to finally get some rest.

When I woke up, the nightmare lingered in my mind but I pushed it away as I noticed something at the end of my bed. Eve was jumping up and down at the foot of my bed, trying to wake me up I guess. I groaned and tried to lay back down but Eve just started to jump closer to me.
“Aab!!! Get up! We have work to do before we leave remember? You promised!!!” Eve whined as she jumped onto her knees and bounced to my head to look me directly in the eyes. “You awake yet?”
I groaned again and sat up. My vision slightly blurry with sleep. As I rubbed my eyes I knew that today was going to be very tiring. And I haven’t begun it yet.

Hope you enjoyed that. I'm going to try to post the next chapter by Saturday. Need to study.
