| chapter nineteen - graduation |

The day of my graduation came all too fast and I don't think I had fully considered how I would feel about it.

I had gone to bed early and tossed and turned until Severus came in and calmed me with gentle kisses. When I had woken I took a quick shower before braiding each side of my head and securing it into a low bun. My makeup was light and I made sure I cast a waterproofing charm over it so that it would not smudge in the case of if I did cry.

Severus was waiting for me in the living room this morning with a small box in his hand, I went over to him and he handed the box to me.

I opened the box and found a small gold necklace inside with a little golden E charm hanging on it.

I flung my arms around Severus, "Thank you so much Sev, I love it!"

Severus chucked and carefully put the necklace on for me before we walked hand in hand to the Great Hall where we went our separate ways to have breakfast.

Melanie and Ryan beamed when they saw me, "Ready to graduate Mrs Snape?" Ryan asked me which a bright smile.

I sighed, "I am very ready because then Severus and I are moving into our new home."

Melanie smiled and then squealed softly when she saw my necklace, "Did Severus get you that?"

I nodded, "He gave it to me this morning before we came up here."

We looked up to the staff table when we heard Dumbledore clap his hands and a hush instantly fell over the students.

"Today we will celebrate the graduation of our seventh years, but first please enjoy another lovely prepared breakfast from the house elves," Dumbledore said before sitting down.

Food suddenly appeared on the tables as usual and my friends and I instantly loaded our plates.

As we ate I looked across at Ryan, "So what are you and Andy going to do after graduation?"

Ryan smiled, "Well, tonight we'll ride the train home with you guys and then we want you all to come out for drinks, or water for the pregnant ladies. Then on Monday we are flying to Australia and we'll be exploring each of the capital cities."

Melanie sighed, "That sounds amazing! Noah and I will be travelling to our homes and packing our stuff because we have recently bought a little house in London."

"Mel that's awesome!" I squealed happily.

Melanie laughed, "And what do you and Severus have planned?"

I looked up to my husband and saw him engaged in a conversation with Minerva, "Sev and I will go to our home at Spinners End and pack all of our stuff and move into our new home."

My friends nodded and we kept eating before all seventh years were ushered out of the hall by Minerva which was fitting seeing as she had been to one to lead us in all those seven years ago.

When we re-entered we found the house tables had been moved slightly to allow a wider aisle and the teachers table and been moved down the back. The Heads of Houses sat with their respective house and the rest of the staff stood around the outer walls.

Dumbledore's podium was at the bottom of the stairs that lead to where the teachers normally sat, whereas now chairs were set out for the graduating class to sit in.

The band started playing softly and Dumbledore called our names one by one and we walked up the aisle and filled the seats.

After a long ceremony the seventh years stood and began to sing the school song and the rest of the students and staff joined.
