Chapter.13 Vandalizing
I let out a sigh of relief as I close my laptop shut, finally done editing. Its been a week since Axel taught me how to properly bat and it's made quite the impact. For the past four hours I've editing this film making adjustments with Olly who just recently left.
I see Axel around in school a lot and he usually just gives one of those 'head nod' things. Occasionally he throws things at my window to have random odd conversations with me that I usually disregard by closing my window.
"Come in!" I yell as somebody knocks on my door, my brother Jack peaks his head in and steps in closing the door behind him. I immediately become skeptical of him as he paces my room back and fourth cursing to himself as he rubs his temples with his fingers.
"You good buddy?" I ask furrowing my eyebrows and with that he plops down face first on my bed. He mutters something that I can't decipher from the fact he's face first in a pillow.
"I can't hear you" I poke his shoulder and he looks up at me, he has big brown eyes similar to mine. He's slightly tanner than the rest of us, he gets it from my dad. He resembles my father in many ways, built and tall with thick brown hair and face structure, at least what I've seen in photographs. As my grandma claims, they were both 'lady killers' and I believe it, he sure as hell didn't get his smoothness from me.
"I'm into somebody" he whines and I let out a sigh of relief, "woah you made me think it was something serious" I tease and he narrows his eyes at me. Jack doesn't date, he's sadly what some might call a 'fuckboy', sad I know, but he won't take my advice.
"Are you blind Care? Catching feelings for somebody is the worst, it kills you" he emphasizes the words 'kills you' as he sighs, "maybe it's time you settled down?"
"Pshhttt.. don't be like those naive girls who try to change me Care" he scoffs rolling on his back staring at the ceiling, "I don't know what it is about her, she's kind, smart, and innocent, and fuck there I go again talking about her" so dramatic.
"I need advice" he begs and I giggle unsure of what to say, since when am I the therapist of the family? "Just be cool and collected, get to know her more, and just go with the flow if it's meant to be it will happen" I explain with a yawn very exhausted after my session with Olly.
"You're right, but I don't want to be with her, I mean I do but fuck I can't. I don't like being vulnerable and I know damn well she's capable of hurting me..." he groans out of frustration throwing his hands up in the air. "Maybe I'll just sleep with her best friend so she'll hate me, then I won't have to worry about her anymore" as those words leave his mouth I fight back to urge to strangle him and instead try a different approach.
I put my hand on his shoulder in a comforting manner and he turns to me, "You are aware you are human and are entitled to emotions, and you can't block out pain without blocking out happiness either right?"
"Please cut the Full House shit for two seconds" he teases and I swat his arm, "I'm serious, does she like you?" I ask and he gives me the 'are you serious?' look, everybody likes me, I mean have you seen me" He rhetorically asks waving a handover his body. Disgusting.
"Unfortunately" I joke pushing him off my bed, a loud thud booms through the room as he falls on the floor. I howl with laughter as he gets up off my floor rubbing his head. He scowls at me before cracking a smile and flicking me off jokingly as he exits my room.
"Love you too" I flash a cheeky smile before turning on my television beginning a The Big Bang Theory marathon.
I hop off my bed as I hear something hit my window. I open my curtains and lift up my window to see Axel sitting on the ledge with a pack of sour patch kids.
"What are you doing nerd?" He asks as he stuffs his face with candies, "woah I am not a nerd, I'm quite the cool cat" I defend scowling at him.
"Really? What are you doing then 'cool cat'?" He teases with a signature smirk tugging at his lips, "um.. illegal? Yeah illegal bad kid things" I nod pointing into my room.
I feel my eyes nearly bulge out of head when I hear The Big Bang Theory theme music coming from my room. "Sounds very eventful Care bear" he grins flashing his dashing smile. He's currently shirtless with grey sweats. Why he's dressed like it's the warm season I'm not sure but hey I'm not complaining.
"It is" I mumble with a frown, "do you ever take risks?" He asks popping more candy in his mouth and I open my mouth to speak but he cuts me off, "And signing up for club penguin without an adult doesn't count" he grins raising his eyebrows at me and I flick him off.
"I can be very bad ass Mr.Bad Boy" What the hell am I saying? STOP! "Oh really? Care to test that theory?" Nope not one bit, "Of course" you're done.
"Alright be outside in five 'badass'" he challenges with a glint of mischief in his eyes as he sets the bag down stepping inside his house. Oh dear what have I gotten into.

"I snook our for this?" I ask as we enter Home Depot, "Aww what a wittle bad ass" he teases ruffling my hair.
I shoot him a death glare swatting his hand away hard, I hate when people touch my hair.
I follow him through the store as he leads us to the paint department, "we're painting houses?" I boredly ask and he ignores me as we approach the spray can section.
"No kitten were vandalizing houses, a specific one in particular" he responds grabbing a black and red spray can. I blink a few times registering everything's he's said.
"W-were... vandalizing.. s-somebodies h-h-house..?" I stutter as my breath hitches in my throat, this can't be real.
"Yes C-Care Bear" he chuckles clearly amused at my reaction as I stand in my place in shock.
"You are freaking out now...." he trails off turning to me, "just wait until you find out who's house" he smirks walking out of the aisle leaving me alone with my thoughts.
I finally gather my thoughts following him to the register line where he pays. I follow him out the store to his car in silence. So many thoughts are swirling around my mind, I've never done anything illegal or wrong in my life. What would my grandma say? I can't back out now, I'd never hear the end of it.
"Who's house is it?" I ask as we begin driving gripping my stomach which is cramping and twisting with nervousness, "oh just the principal's" he simply says glancing over with a sinister grin.
