Chapter 26. Sugar honey iced tea
"Boom in your face!" I declare with a triumphant smirk on my face sticking my tongue out at Jack.
"I wasn't even trying to beat you" Jack mutters rolling his eyes as I do a celebratory dance before stuffing my face with whipped cream.
"Carolina Luna Garcia!" My grandma hollers from down the hall causing my whole body to completely stiffen, "Sorry grandma we'll be quiet!" I yell waiting until the sound of her door closing to continue dancing.
"So why is your face blue again?" He asks as I take a seat back on the plush couch grabbing the controller, "This psychotic girl who thinks I like her... well... crush I'll call it" I grumble rolling my eyes, I can't believe she thinks I'd ever like him.
"Axel Wesley?" He asks causing my neck to snap into his direction so fast I think I heard a crack, "How'd you know?"
"I'm not an idiot" he grins leaning back in the seat as I select a different scene for our race in Mario Kart, "Rainbow road? No way pick a different one!" Jack whines as I select the world, "Nope" I conclude selecting the world hiding my evil look.
"Okay, so you know how I was telling you about that girl?" Jack asks and I nod not even daring to tear my eyes from the screen, "Yes"
"Well....uhhh....I think I'm in love with her" he mumbles so low I barely decipher his words, "You...you love her?" I ask out of pure shock that my eyes actually leave the screen. My brother? The ultimate player, in love?
"It's not that big of a deal" he tries to brush off but I won't allow it, "This is a huge deal, tell me everything"
"Shut up..." He trails off continuing to play the game but I pause it, "I thought you were going to sleep with her best friend? What happened?" I ask and he shrugs biting his lip, "I don't know...I couldn't bring myself to do it, her friends hot don't get me wrong, but something about this one really has me fucked" he explains and I can just tell by the way he talks about her she has an affect on him.
"What's her name?" I curiously ask as he smiles at the ground, "Daisy" Jack beams in awe causing me to smile.
"Tell me about her" I suggest very curious as to how she's like, "She's different to say the least, she once tried to cast a Harry Potter spell on me because I annoy her so much" he chuckles causing me grin. I already like her.
"She's really smart, she's funny, every time I see her she's reading. Her long black hair is always down but I love when it's up so I can see her face. I love when coach lets out of practice early so I can catch her walking home from the library. I love it when I make her laugh, even though she tries so hard not to show it. I love it when I tell her she's beautiful and she blushes, I love how she actually cares about me, she listens to me. It sounds cliché but I feel happier around her, a happy I haven't felt since Dad was around" he explains and by his tone it's something I've never heard from him before. After everything that happened in our lives it's almost as if Jack turned off all emotions. He refused to let himself feel pain. Hearing him talk about her almost makes me feel as if my brother is back.
"It has emotions?" I ask causing him to scoff, "I can have emotions dork"
I giggle at this, "I'm really happy for you Jj, and I'm really hoping to meet her one day"
"Me too, now click play so I can beat you in this match and go to bed" I do as he says rolling my eyes as we continue playing.
Jack lets out an evil laugh as he passes me up on the last lap, "No!" I scream as we are neck and neck and the finish line on the brightly colored road is in the distance.
