The male stared at me. It was quite discomforting. I thought that it would be rude not to answer, so I opened my mouth to speak. After all, the weird silence was disquieting.
"I," was all I managed to get out before Rachel thought to rudely interrupt me.
"This is a noble child, able to use magic. There is no reason to answer your question." So she stated. And then she hugged me from behind. Are we really gonna start with the hugging thing again?
I didn't know that being a noble child gave you a privilege of not answering questions. If I had known I was a noble child all along, I would be able to not answer any of mother's questions, without a second thought! Of course, even if she knew, I don't think my mother would care about such things.
"Ah! Forgive me my rudeness!" He suddenly exclaimed. Was he rude? Well, I guess he was staring at me weirdly.
"Ah, no problem, no problem." I assured him. Its much better to make friends than enemies, after all.
"What are you maidens doing in the Abyssal Forest?" He asked us.
A good question. I pondered how to answer. Should I say, living quietly in my den? But then, that's not what I'm doing right now.
Oh, wait. As a noble child, I received the privilege of not answering. I simply stood there, not answering, as was my right by being a noble child.
"We have been captured by the orcs. Please, do you have anything to cover this child with?" Rachel replied. Well, I guess that she wasn't a noble child herself and had to answer.
"Ah! Of coarse! Forgive me for not noticing sooner!" He replied as he whipped off his cloak. Draping it over my shoulders, he smiled at me. "Fear not, young maiden. The Blood Rose will lead you safely from the forest!"
That was one scary sounding flower! I wonder if this blood rose can walk! Well, even if it was scary sounding, apparently it would lead me out of the forest.
Not that I was in any particular hurry to leave. After all, I haven't found many clues yet! I can't continue my quest blind after all!
"The Blood Rose?!" Rachel seemed impressed for some reason. Perhaps this was a famous flower where she came from.
"Forgive my lateness in introductions! I am Weaver, noble knight and escort of my lady, Therenody. We have currently just completed a quest and were on our way back when we were surrounded and attacked by these orcs." He kicked the orc he killed.
I heard muffled groans, and looked in the direction they came from. The other two metal shard holders where busy sticking their shards into the unconscious orcs, making sure they would not be waking up, ever.
I shuddered. This is the cruelness of humans. They were obviously in the orcs' territory, and yet they are killing these unconscious orcs without a second thought! Its as if they think the orcs are in the wrong! And this is why I will remain a dragon. Er, at least on the inside.
"Please! Bring us away from here!" Rachel cried. I myself was not too sure about keeping these humans company.
"Of coarse!" The woman in the back suddenly voiced out. "I am always happy to help my fellow noble!"
Why is she looking at me? Oh yeah. I was apparently a noble child. I wonder, is a noble not human? I had never heard of it before in all my lessons from mother. But then, she never did delve too far into human ways. I feel I fall a bit short on my knowledge of them, even if, in reality, I am one too.
"My I know your name and house?" She asked me.
Was I supposed to answer? Didn't she know that a noble child had privileges?
