Harry: It’s the same thing that happens every interview. The upbeat girl asks, “So, who’s off the market, boys?” Louis, Liam and Zayn all raise their hands, like usual, and Niall glances at Harry and starts snickering. His hand is raised as well, not as high as the others, and a little reluctantly. Not because he doesn’t want people to know about you, but because Management has been very severe in telling him that half his appeal is in his bachelor status. The boys grin at him, but are mostly quiet. Their girlfriends are always a touchy subject, especially in Harry’s case.
“So it’s official, then?” She says, thrilled with the scoop. “The rumors are true?”
“Which ones?” Louis says, and Harry elbows him.
“Yes, I’m dating Y/N and we’re very happy, thank you.” Always so polite, but his guard is certainly up. He doesn’t want fans to pester you, or to reveal too much information about you. You’re his, after all.
“He honestly doesn’t shut up about her though.” The usually quiet Zayn says, and there’s more laughter before the interviewer moves on.
Louis: It was no secret you two were an item. He’d tweeted a picture of you at least once a week for a month pulling the ugliest faces. The fans liked you, because he was honest and upfront with them about how special you are to him. There would always be bad apples in the bunch, but your supports had got your ship name trending in response to the hate, much to Louis’ appreciation.
“But what’s Y/N really like, Louis?” The interviewer had been prying too much the whole time, and it was getting on his nerves. The other boys picked up on it, and Harry leaned forward.
“Imagine Louis, right?” He says, and Niall nods enthusiastically. “But a girl.”
Louis smiled, but didn’t laugh like the others did. He still didn’t like the interviewers accusatory tone.
“Really though,” He says, hoping you’re watching, “I care about her very much. She’s lovely.”
“Is it love, though, Louis?”
The two of you hadn’t said I love you, yet, but he knew he had to lighten up or his mood would sour the whole interview. For all his jokes, he really was a professional.
“It might be. It might be.” He says playfully, though he already knows it is. Liam expertly changed the subject for him.
Niall: “Can I tell you a secret?” Niall says, as soon as there’s a lull in conversation. He was in a hyper mood, and knew he might regret telling the world about you, but he couldn’t help but be sure they’d love you as much as he did. The interviewer leaned in and raised her eyebrow, nodding of course.
“I’ve got a girlfriend.” He says, triumphantly. Harry claps him on the shoulder from behind, and Louis let out an exaggerated cheer.
“Really, Niall?” The interviewer says. “What’s her name? Where’s she from? Is this an exclusive?”
“Yes, sir, yes sir. All your questions will be answered in due time, but for now, all the people need to know is that she’s beautiful, and very, very funny and I love her a whole lot.” He’s so sincere, and so bad at trying to pass it off as a bit of a joke, he even embarrasses himself. His accent has thickened considerably since the conversation started, like it always does when he’s feeling more emotional.
“They’re really cute.” Liam says, “It’s a bit sickening, really.”
“Not at all, Liam! I think they’re sweet.” Harry interjects. “But not as sweet as our upcoming Melbourne concert… I think there might still be tickets left for that one. Maybe. Probably.”
It’s a gentle reminder from him what the interview is actually for, and the boys all laugh but the interviewer looks annoyed at the subject change. He tries to bring it back to you several times as the interview progresses, but Niall won’t bite again.
