prompt: you think he’s distant/mad, but really he’s planning on proposing
Harry: Harry came home at three in the morning, waking you as he tripped over the coat stand. You walked downstairs, arms crossed. “Where have you been?” you snapped. He looked guilty for a moment, trying to come up with an excuse. “I-I was just…with the boys.” You narrowed your eyes. “No, you weren’t. Don’t you think I already called them to ask where you were?” Sensing his lie, your heart dropped at the possibility of him cheating. You started to cry, and Harry was by your side immediately. “Don’t cry, love,” he said, getting choked up himself. “Are you cheating on me?” you whispered, afraid to hear his answer. He quickly shook his head, gasping, “God, no! Is that was you thought? Oh, baby, c’mere.” You cuddled closer into his chest, sniffing and trying to calm your tears. “I…I was actually with your mom,” he mumbled, and you looked up in confusion. “Why?” His face went red. “I was trying to plan the perfect proposal…” You immediately felt better, smiling. “Really?” He nodded. “Oh, Harry, I should’ve known. I’m sorry for ruining it,” you pouted. He smiled, kissing your forehead. “You didn’t ruin anything. The rest’s still a secret.”
Liam: After Liam left for what felt like the hundredth time this week, you called up your best friend, Zayn. “Zayn,” you cried into the phone. You heard him shush some people on the other end before asking, “What’s the matter, Love?” You sniffed. “Liam’s been so distant lately…I feel like he doesn’t love me anymore and I’m not sure what to do.” You heard Zayn curse before mumbling, “one second.” Then, there was shuffling and Liam was on the line. “(Y/N), love, it’s me.” You were confused, but it was nice hearing his voice. “Hi,” you whimpered. “Oh, Baby, I’m sorry for being so distant, it’s just…Well… The boys have been helping plan my proposal to you…” he mumbled. You smiled, “Oh. Well, now I’ve just gone and spoiled it, haven’t I?” you said, feeling bad. “No! Not at all! You’ve still no idea how it’ll be done, or when,” he smiled. “But it’s late now, beautiful. You should get some rest,” he said. “Okay,” you agreed, smiling. “I love you, (Y/N).” “I love you too.”
Louis: You’d noticed Louis sneaking out in the middle of the night time and time again. One night, you decided to follow him. Driving a few cars behind him, you were lead to a hotel. In fact, it was the exact same hotel he took you on your anniversary when he wanted to take you on a “small getaway,” but without leaving the city. You’re heart plummeted. Was he cheated on you with another girl? And here, of all places? Swallowing back tears, you got out of your car and secretly followed him in, and outside to the pool. On the pool deck, there were roses everywhere, with a table by the water, set with champagne and plates, and fairy lights all around. You were admiring the place, when a voice made you jump. “(Y/N),” Louis gasped, “what the hell are you doing here?” He seemed angry, which made you frightened a bit. “I…You kept leaving…And I thought you might be…” “Cheating on you?” he finished your sentence and you looked at the ground. “Oh, babe, I’d never do that,” he said. “Then what’s all this?” you asked as he wrapped you in his arms. “Well…It was a surprise…” “Oh?” Suddenly, your eyes found the small box on the table. “Oh,” you said. He blushed, “do you think you can pretend you didn’t see any of this? At least until tomorrow?” You eagerly nodded. “I didn’t see a thing.”
Niall: He had been so quiet, so distant, and it broke your heart. You tapped on the bedroom door with your knuckles, quietly letting yourself in. You found Niall lying on the bed, texting. “(Y/N)? What’s up?” You stood awkwardly at the door, fiddling with your hands. “I just…” you sighed, deciding to give him the full story. “You’ve been so distant from me…You’re always out, and when you’re here it’s like you’re too busy texting that you can’t make time for me. I just want to know…Are you tired of this relationship? If what you want is to break up, then—” “Woah woah woah! Who said anything about breaking up?” He was by your side in an instant, taking your crying figure in his arms. He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “I’ve been texting my dad…For advice on how to propose,” he blushed. You gasped, “Really?” “Yes. I love you, and I want you to be mine forever. I was going to plan something special, but…Screw that. Will you marry me, (Y/N)?” You grinned, giving him a long kiss. “It would be an honor.”
Zayn: You were hurt, thinking he was mad for no reason. So you snapped, causing a fight. “Why don’t you love me anymore?” you blurted suddenly. His angry facade drifted away, and he was confused. “What?” he gasped. “You don’t love me anymore! You’re so quiet and secretive and you’re never here!” you sobbed. “He took your fragile body in his arms as you cried into his chest. “Baby, I do love you. I love you so much that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Which is why I’ve been gone so much…I was planning a proposal.” You sniffed, “Oh my God, now I feel even worse! I’ve ruined it!” He chuckled slightly, wiping your cheeks with his thumb. “No, it’s still a mystery, now you’ve just no reason to be sad, okay?” He kissed your temple, before lifting you up to carry you to bed.
