Niall: His cheeks had gone pink in the chilly early morning air that drifted in through the open window and curled around your sleeping bodies. The trees outside the window were bursting with color, like the sunrise had set itself on the leaves. All you wanted was to curl closer to him, take some of his warmth and make it your own before you both had to get out of bed and continue on with your day. He sniffled as you tucked yourself against his chest, wrapping an arm around you to keep you there and in that moment you knew that there’s no place either of you would rather be.
Zayn: Warm, delicious coffee was the smell that woke him up, alone in his dark bedroom, the rumpled sheets beside him proving that the night before hadn’t just been another dream. Somehow, he pulled himself out of the warm sheets, tugging on a sweater and sweatpants that were piled on the floor, and he made his way through the house to where you were in the kitchen. Your back was to him when he walked in, the golden sunlight creating a halo around your body, crowning you like an autumn queen. The mug of coffee in your hands sent curliques of steam up to your face, warming it from the chilled air and he’d never been more in love than he was in that moment.
Louis: He really hated this brief season between summer and winter. Everything was dying and it was cold, but not too cold, and there was fucking pumpkin flavored everything. When he met you, you tried to make all of that change. You had no hard feelings towards this particular season; there was Halloween and changing leaves, warm beds contrasting with the cool air, and the nights were always so clear and the stars so bright. One night when both of you were having trouble sleeping in your own apartments, you told him to come over with completely different intentions than him. He was kissing you before the door was closed, but then you were pulling it back open and taking him up to the rooftop. It wasn’t what he’d come over for, but it was what you wanted and that’s all he ever needed. You both stayed on the rooftop, wrapped together under and blanket, sipping from a thermos of hot tea, gazing up at the clear stars until the horizon began to bleed orange into the blue-black night.
Harry: He was made for every season. In the spring he was bright eyes and cheery smiles, in the summer he was long stretches of tan skin and an ocean breeze. In winter he wrapped himself in too big sweaters and fancy coats and scarves and beanies. But autumn was the perfect time of year where he could balance himself in all of those. He could wear sweaters and jackets, but still hold onto the tan gleam of skin and cheery grins that bloomed in springtime. He was made to be tucked in between the sheets, attempting to stay warm and asleep for just a little bit longer until the sun could heat the air. He was made to pull you back in bed every time that you tried to get out to head to classes. “It’s too early in the semester to start skipping.” You would try to explain, but then he’d nuzzle into your neck, press a few light kisses to your shoulder, and you couldn’t have left him behind to sit in the gray halls of study.
Liam: While he was summer born and summer made there was something about autumn that fit him like a glove. Maybe it was that his cinnamon eyes came to life when the trees burst into fire colors, when the pumpkins were ready to be carved into silly faces, and when he could dress up as Batman and no one would frown at him and tell him that he couldn’t. He loved the way that he could wake up in the mornings and go to the kitchen and brew up some coffee to bring it back to you in bed. He could coax you awake with it’s scent and a few kisses and the promise that you could wear one of his plaid shirts. Most of all, he loved watching you step out of the bed and reach for the first of his shirts that you could find, slipping it on over your skin before turning to smile at him with that innocent look that he knew wasn’t all there was to you.
