Liam: It would have to be tonight. Liam sat in the front seat of the car, biding his time. He knew it was dangerous, and probably pretty insane. Tonight was the night this monster was most powerful. But Liam also knew it was the one day a year it would venture of into the night, seemingly invincible. He looked to the picture of you taped to the dashboard, nodding to himself. He didn’t know what would happen, if he would even make it out alive. It was worth it though, for a shot at the demon that wrecked his world.
Zayn: It took you a moment to untangle yourself from him, mostly due to the fact that his touch made your knees wobble. When you’d finally straightened up, you breathlessly directed him to follow you, weaving your way through the maze of shelves. The historical section was a popular area among the local school students, so many of the books lay in haphazard stacks among the tables. You hung back, letting him peruse the titles, seeming unsatisfied with what he saw. And for some reason it didn’t shock you a bit when he asked for a record of the town’s longest unsolved mystery.
Louis:For a solid minute, Louis thought he was dreaming. There was no other explanation for his ringing phone, displaying your picture and customized ringtone. He didn’t move, didn’t even breath, waiting to see if it would stop as suddenly as it started. But all too quickly it did, and he exhaled, thinking it for the best. Until it sounded again. This time he lunged across the motel bed to the nightstand, unable to hold himself back a second time. His hands shook as he held it up to his face, breathing a hello that was more air than speech. But there was nothing on the other end, because miles away, you thought better of it, and hung up.
Harry: Reeling back from the broken surface, he hit the wall behind him, flattening against the surface. Flashes of the night before came back, hazy and distant like a dream. But there was still no explanation for the state of the house, or his eyes, for that matter. He looked down at himself, flexing his fingers. All of his senses were heightened, but it made him feel off balance, like walking into the sunlight after being in the cinema. He walked back out to the bedroom, trying to figure out how to explain it all to you. But you weren’t there. And you weren’t in the kitchen or living room, or anywhere else. You were gone.
Niall: Niall sat watching you sleep, trying to figure out what to do. On one hand, you were a remarkable hunter. You’d already saved his ass on more than one occasion in a single night, and you could hold your own up against just about anything. But on the other… He didn’t know if he could stand seeing you hurt by these monsters. And this wasn’t even the worst that it had been. He listened for the gentle beep of the heart monitor to reassure himself that you were alright, that it was just a concussion. The only thing he knew for certain was that he couldn’t lose you.
