Niall: Last week, Niall helped you overcome your fear of spiders by … making a huge creepy-crawly walk over your arm for the longest time – for three minutes only, but it felt like forever –. As the spider roamed on your skin, you weren’t allowed to move an inch or swat it away. So, today, you are in charge of helping Niall conquer his dread of heights. For this, you have driven up to a hiking site.“Are you ready?” you ask him as you step out of the car. By the weakness of his hum, you can tell he is clearly not. Taking his hand in yours, you try to reassure and comfort him, “C’mon, it’s very secure. You’ll be proud when it’s over with.” “Proud, or dead?” he jokes. Instead of climbing against a wall, you decide to ascent a tree. Once on top of the first tree of the site, you have to walk on a wooden bridge in order to go further. You turn over to Niall, who’s full on sweating by now and cold as a sheet. “I’m not freaking out, are you freaking out?” He laughs feebly before saying “Of course I’m freaking the hell out. What if we fall?” “Then you’ll be caught by the harness, or land on the trampoline down there. Which, it reminds me, don’t look down.” He looks frozen as he does look down. “C’mon, take my hand. Trust me, I promise we won’t fall.” Putting his faith in you, he takes your hand and moves forward. It is with intertwined fingers that you arrive at the end of the site, Niall visibly weakened but with a bright grin smoothing his features.
Louis: You and Louis are having dinner at a romantic restaurant for Valentine’s Day. As you are enjoying the delicious food, Louis checks the window. “What’s the matter?” you ask him. Worrying his thumbnail, he replies,“Just… paps gathering outside. It’ll be a hassle to get past them. If fans show up as well, we’re screwed.” Looking outside, you see about half a dozen paps, as well as a bunch of fans, but you don’t mention that. After sharing a wonderful tiramisu and calling two of Louis’ bodyguards – Sean and Paddy –, you wait in the restaurant lobby before getting outside, relatively protected by our human shields. On your way to the car, something hits you in the face. As soon as Paddy asks “You okay?”, Louis looks at you, anger clear in his eyes,“I’m not freaking out, are you freaking out?” Trying to reassure him, you say,“Of course I’m not, it’s fine. I’m fine.” “If one more thing flies in your direction, I’ll flip them all off and knock down the first pap on my way.” As Sean tightens his grip on Louis’ arm, you laugh to soothe the mood. “You can’t keep on flipping the bird every time you get mobbed, love.” When you finally arrive in the car, Louis holds the door for you. As he closes the door, another object flies into the car. Without thinking twice, Louis throws it right back outside, immediately putting his middle finger in the air afterwards and screaming “Don’t you have ANYWHERE ELSE to be on Valentine’s Day? Fucking get a life!” “Well… I guess we’ll wait for the front page of the tabloids to mention that,” you say, placing a calming hand on Louis’ thigh.
Harry: You and Harry have been dating for three months, and, as Harry said, “it is time to make it official to the public eye”. The main reason why “it is time” is because Harry doesn’t feel like lying any more when the fatidic question comes up in interviews and he has to say, “No, I’m not dating anyone. Yeah, I am single.” For your coming out as a couple, you have decided to attend Niall’s charity football game hand in hand. At the very last minute, you have cold feet and try to find excuses not to go, to delay the revelation. “Harry, babe, are we not going to die of heat outside?” He chuckles as he walks over to where you are standing on the bed. Resting a finger on your cheek to make you face him, he says, “Nu-uh, I know just what it is you are doing. You are freaking out on me, aren’t you?” You feel your cheeks redden heavily and reply “No, it’s not that – just –“ “We’ve been together for months, making it official will not do anything else than give us more freedom. We’ll be able to go grocery shopping hand in hand, eat outside together without fearing being caught and papped…”His face gets closer to yours, “kiss whenever we feel like it”, he whispers against your lips. “Need I go on?” “No, you don’t. Let’s go.” Once at the football pitch the game is being held at, Harry squeezes your hand “I’m not freaking out, are you freaking out?” Smiling, you squeeze back and say, “I’m not freaking out. I’m here for more freedom … and more kisses.” Pecking you on the lips, he says through a smile, “A lot more of that, definitely.”
Liam: On the first weekend of August, you, Liam, Liam’s best friend Andy and his girlfriend, meet around a barbecue at Liam’s place. As the wine gets poured in the glasses and the meat gets grilled, the four of you are engaged in a heated conversation about champagne. “I definitely think I could keep myself from drinking another drop of red wine if it meant I could drink champagne at every meal, for no particular occasion,” Liam says. “The bubbles would make you sick at some point,” Andy’s girlfriend puts in. After finishing his glass, Andy speaks up, “You don’t understand, babe,” he tells his girlfriend, “Liam is a posh kind of guy, hence his love for champagne. But most of all, he’s actually five year old in his head; he’s more interested in the bubbles than the taste of champagne itself.” Once you’ve finished eating the grilled meat, Andy gets up to revive the embers of the barbecue in order to roast marshmallows for dessert. Blowing too intensely, the embers turn into flames that fly right onto Andy, setting his chest on fire. As his girlfriend and himself yell for help, Liam stays calm and comes at his rescue, pushing Andy away from the terrace and rushing him to the bathroom. As he puts him under the spray of the shower to shut the flames down, you call the emergencies. Once in the ambulance’s car, Liam crashes against your chest and whispers to you “I tried really hard not to be freaking out, were you freaking out?” “I was absolutely scared out of my mind, babe. But you remaining calm was what allowed you to save him. You’re amazing.” As he starts trembling and crying in your arms, you tighten your embrace. “He’ll be fine, all thanks to you. He’ll be fine, little firefighter,” you say, kissing the top of his head.
Zayn: It’s in the south of France that you and Zayn have decided to spend your summer holidays. Vacation at the beach is a good arrangement for the both of you: you love swimming among waves, and Zayn really enjoys taking naps under the sun. When he gets too hot, he can even use the showers set on the beach itself. One night, after a long day of swimming for you and tanning for Zayn, you ask him “Do you reckon it’d be easier for you to learn to swim at the beach than in a pool or the other way around?” Furrowing his brows, he replies,“it’d probably be harder at the pool yeah, because it’s deeper, and all… and people will see us less among waves…” Taking his response into consideration, you add, “how about we try tomorrow at the beach, then?” “We can always try, yeah,” he says with a shrug. On the following day, you join him at the beach after making a quick stop at the nearest shop. “Ready to try survive the waves?”you ask as you show him the floaties you bought. “You’ve got to be kidding me,” he says, the right corner of his mouth tugging into a smile. You walk with him until your ankles are under water. “Put the floaties on, we’re going farther than this.” Unsure, he shakes his head but puts the armbands on anyway. Once you have water up until your waist, you tell him to put himself in a swimming position. Seeing his face twist into a grimace, you say, “You’ve got no reason to be scared, I’ve got you. I’m not freaking out, are you freaking out?”You squeeze his hand; he smiles and does what you asked him. Holding his chin to keep his face over the surface, you say “Okay, perfect, now move your arms as if you were pushing things from the interior to the exterior. Do the same with your feet.”
