Game Night

 It was a long day for the boys. Their day had been spent fighting corrupted gems off in the desert. Coming back home they were dirty and exhausted. Obsidian flopped face first on the couch with Aquamarine slouching into the chair next to the couch. Moonie laid down on the ground with his arms spread out and Sunstone sat down and leaned his back against the front of the couch. It was rough but it was nice to be back home.

"Y'know those corrupted gems sure put up a fight" Aquamarine chuckled.

"You think, we just spent hours trying not to get poofed by them," Sunstone said.

"The positive thing is we're all alive," Moonie said lifting his arm up and waggling his finger at the ceiling.

Everyone just nodded and relaxed where they were. Silence filled the shack and Moonie's eyes began drooping. Looking like he was about to fall asleep Obsidian pushed him with his foot. Moonie rolled to his side and tried to take a nap.

"We can't be falling asleep" Obsidian said. Everyone looked over looking like they were about to pass out "Game night is tonight" Sunstone groaned and threw back his head.

"Obsidian I am not going to play some dumb game tonight," Sunstone said angrily.

"You think my games are dumb," Moonie said looking hurt.

"Moonie when I'm in the mood they're not dumb but tonight is not the night," Sunstone said crossing his arms.

"Well, I for one will think it'll be a nice way to relax," Aquamarine said.

"At least Aqua tries to be positive," Obsidian said gesturing towards him.

"Yeah Sunny it'll be fun," Moonie said poking Sunstone's leg.

"Ugh fine if I have to" He grumbled.

"Whose night is it to pick the game," Obsidian asked.

"Don't we have this written down somewhere?" Aquamarine said.

"I wanna pick" Moonie chirped in.

"Moonie you always pick though" Aquamarine whined. Moonstone gave him big puppy dog eyes

"Please Aqua I'll pick a real fun game tonight," He said.

"Moonie if it's The Game of Life again I swear I'll pummel ya," Sunstone said rubbing his eyes.

"Does everyone else want to play Life?" Moonie asked looking around. Every night seemed to be Life but Obsidian and Aquamarine enjoyed seeing Sunstone angry so didn't particularly care it was another night of the same game. They nodded and Moonstone hopped up and walked to his room to find it.

Obsidian got up to clean off the table to give themselves room to play. Sunstone got up and sat at the table with his head in his hands. Aquamarine sat next to him and poked his side. Sunstone glared at him looking like he might strangle him. Obsidian sat across from Aqua as they waited for Moonie to come prancing out. Moonstone walked out with the box in hand and placed it on the table. The boys started opening the box and setting up all the buildings on the board and handing out the money accordingly.

"I call the blue car" Moonie said grabbing it. The other boys picked theirs except for Sunstone. He looked at the cars left and saw his red one was taken.

"Obsidian you know I always have the red car" Sunstone said extending his hand for it.

"You never called it," Obsidian said.

"It's my car," He said simply.

"Take the yellow car for your piss hair" Obsidian pointed out.

"My hair does not look like piss" Sunstone stammered "It's yellow-orange and is gorgeous" Obsidian just handed him the yellow car.

"Fine" Sunstone said snatching it out of his hand.

The boys started playing Life. Moonie was always enthusiastic since he loved human games so much and always got into character. Aqua and Obsidian played it normally occasionally asking Moonie what something was so he'd go on a long explanation of some human thing. Sunstone sat behind everyone with the least amount of money. Moonie this game was a mechanic for his job. Taking the opportunity to be his person he shapeshifted his hand into a wrench.

"Look I can fix things. Boop Boop" He said happily.

"Yeah but you're running low on money Moonie" Obsidian jabbed.

"I guess I can't fix a failing marriage and debt," Moonstone said looking down at the board. The rest of the guys looked over at him confused more than anything. Aqua sat with the most money at the moment having picked to be a doctor.

"I'll give money to you Moonie," He said gently, assuming he was taking the game too seriously like he would.

"I don't want my friends to worry about me," He said dramatically placing his hand against his forehead. "I'll get by"

"Oh shut it. I have less money than you Moonie" Sunstone said.

"Okay that's because you keep losing your job, and you're not getting into the spirit of this game," Moonie said breaking character.

"I think I'm playing just fine, it's you three who've got your heads in your asses," Sunstone said.

"Then why am I winning," Aquamarine said smugly showing off his money. Sunstone pursed his lips and leaned back in his chair.

The boys continued playing with Moonie occasionally being overly dramatic and getting too into his character. Once to the end and they counted up their money it had seemed that Obsidian had come in at first and just barely. He had been using the investment cards and made quite a bit of money off of it. Aquamarine was second, Moonie in third and Sunstone last. They laughed happily at the table and Moonie suggested they play another game.

"I'm up for another" Obsidian said "What about you Aqua"

"Yeah I'm having a good time," he said. Sunstone was standing up getting ready to go to his room.

"Hey Sunny don't go," Obsidian said.

"I'm exhausted and this is annoying," he said coldly.

"Game Night isn't the same if we're not all playing together," Obsidian said. Sunstone looked over and everyone smiled at him.

"Alright I'll play another game," He said sitting back down in his chair.

The night continued like this until Moonie wore himself out. Packing up the games he put them back in his room and crashed on the bed. Everyone else went into their rooms and fell asleep. The house was always good on Game Night. Everyone was happy and as Aqua puts it "Is a bonding experience to make them a family"
