I Am The Sea

Aquamarine was out early this morning. He stood out in the water and motioning his hand over it. He had small control over it as the water would move to his hand. He made the water curve and change direction. He wasn't trying to make anything in particular, just passing time. He was in a slight daze, it wasn't because he was sad or upset he just felt like he was in simple terms floating around in his brain. He felt calm though and watching the water move around was enjoyable for him. Aquamarine made small water tornadoes, the ones that could easily be made if you swirled your hand in the water the right way. The ocean was always calming for him. Nothing could ever beat the engulfing feel of the sea around him. It was cold but he didn't mind. He lifted his hand up slowly, palm facing the water and some followed. When he upturned his hand the water floated above his hand. The water made its shape smooth and formed a small orb. He smiled absently and moved the orb around his hand. His control over the sea wasn't as grandeur as other aquamarines but he didn't need it to be. In his silent watch of the water, he hadn't noticed Hematite had come out and was standing behind him.

Hematite had a huge grin on his face watching Aquamarine. He loved following him around and watching him make things. Hematite was impressed with the orb Aquamarine had made. He leaned his head over his shoulder to get a better look at what he had made. Once he did Aqua jumped out of shock that someone was behind him and the orb fell apart back into the ocean.

"Hematite what are you doing here" Aquamarine exclaimed. "You're usually still asleep"

"Usually I am but I went to bed early last night and I saw you were out so I was curious what you were up to," He said sweetly.

"Well, I'm not really doing anything that special Hematite. I don't think you'll find any of this interesting" He said coolly.

"Sure I do you're making bubbles. Who doesn't love bubbles" He said cheerfully.

"Well, technically they're not bubbles. Bubbles would have air inside of them these are water orbs" Aquamarine explained.

"Okay, but they look like bubbles. Water orbs are boring" Hematite said. Aquamarine rolled his eyes.

"Can you make another bubble Aqua" Hematite asked.

"Of course I can," Aqua said as he placed his hand out to make another. The water heading his command formed itself again into an orb in his hand.

"Can I touch it?" Hematite said with a smile.

"Sure it won't break form," Aquamarine said. Hematite stuck his finger into the orb and giggled. The water simply kept moving around his finger.

"Aqua how big can you make one of these bubbles," Hematite asked.

"I can't make them much larger than this," He said shyly.

"Well, what if you made a whole bunch of them so you could have them surround you" Hematite's imagination started taking off.

"I think you overestimate my abilities Hematite" He let the orb break again.

"Well it's still amazing what you can do Aqua," he said happily.

"Oh it's nothing really it's just an orb of water, any gem that can manipulate water can do that," He said brushing off the compliment.

"Yeah well I've never seen another gem like you so I think it's pretty cool," He said.

"Well that's really nice of you Hematite but I don't think..." He started to say.

"Will you just take a compliment Aqua, you're good at what you do?" He said lovingly. Aqua blushed.

"Thank you Hematite," He said looking down at the water. He bit his lip as he looked out into the sea. He usually only went down if he needed to escape from everything, but today he wanted to show it Hematite.

Something about today made him feel like he could let down his guard and show off something really personal to himself. He turned to Hematite to see his face right next to his. He blushed even more and Hematite just smiled and gave him a soft peck on his nose. Aquamarine smiled widely, he could feel all those loving emotions he had for Hematite and just wanted to show him everything that he loved.

"Hey Hematite," He said softly.

"Yeah Aqua" He grinned.

"Do you maybe wanna go down to where I go when I um try to escape from everything. Oh that sounds bad I um mean do you wanna go down there and y'know just hang out I guess. I'm not erm sad or anything I just really like the ocean y'know and I thought that maybe you'd like to see and we can just um cuddle or something" Aquamarine trailed off.

"Yeah, I'd love to sea it," Hematite said with a silly wink. Aquamarine sighed and Hematite just laughed pleased with his own dumb joke.

"Honestly though I'd love to go down there with you," He said in a more serious tone. Aquamarine smiled and took one of his hands and took him down into the sea.

At first, Hematite was uneasy with water going over his head. He liked being above water and not having a sense of air around him made him extremely uneasy. Aquamarine noticed this and gave him a reassuring squeeze of his hand and a smile. Hematite tried to relax his breathing, he knew he could breathe down here but it felt alien to him. As they got deeper he could feel the water pressure around him, it felt odd to him, everything about this felt different. Aquamarine though assured him everything was fine. Soon they got deep enough where they could look up and see fish swim past over their heads. Sunlight still hit where they were and rocks decorated the sandy floor. Aquamarine pulled him over to a small surrounding of rocks and seaweed. It looked very pretty and neat where they were. Hematite looked around with a smile and had a look of awe on his face.

"Do you like it?" Aquamarine said nervously sitting down in the sand.

"I do, it's beautiful down here," Hematite said quietly. He gently sat down and making sure not squish anything.

Hematite tried to stay almost perfectly still. He knew he could be a rowdy gem but this was something dear to Aqua and he didn't want to have anything messed up because of him. He sat setting his hands on his lap and sat quietly. Aquamarine looked off into the ocean and started to go on a long talk about everything he loved about the ocean. All the different fish he'd see down here and how they'd come right up to him and he could pet them. Aqua seemed so happy and Hematite listened carefully and nodded whenever Aquamarine would turn to him.

Aquamarine sighed contently and laid back in the sand watching the sun break through the water. He turned his head over to see Hematite sitting nicely, and not touching anything around him. He could tell that Hematite felt a bit out of place here but Aquamarine appreciated how thoughtful he was being. Aquamarine patted the sand next to him and Hematite laid down. Hematite seemed to loosen up to and outstretched his arms, making sure not to disturb anything. Aquamarine couldn't help himself and set his head on Hematite's chest. Two of Hematite's arms wrapped around Aqua and he leaned down to give him a soft kiss on the head. Aquamarine smiled and leaned in for more kisses. Hematite obliged and kept giving him kisses on the top of his head. Aquamarine absolutely loved all the attention he was getting from Hematite and cuddled closer to him. He curled his body into Hematite's to fit comfortably next to him.

"I really appreciate you showing me this Aqua" Hematite said. "I know how personal this place is to you"

"Well I love you Hematite, I want to show you things that are close to my heart," Aquamarine said lovingly.

"I love you too Aqua," Hematite said sweetly as he gave Aqua another kiss. He let out a small chuckle.

"What," Aqua said worried he had done something silly.

"Nothing I was just wondering if you can make bubbles down here," He said with a grin.

"Yeah I can make bubbles," Aqua said with a goofy grin on his face. He held his palm out and soon bubbles starting forming and floating up to the surface. Hematite giggled and poked them and watched them pop in the water.

Aqua loved seeing him happy and couldn't think of a better day than today.
