Aquamarine was running as fast as he could, running to the shack to make sure everyone was okay. His heart was pounding and he started feeling dizzy. Once he was close enough to the house he saw his friends getting pulled out of the home by jaspers. Aquamarine's heart sank knowing he was too late to help everyone. Homeworld had came to Earth and now Aquamarine felt a feeling of hopelessness he hadn't felt in a long time. He could see Obsidian looking over to him and giving him pleading eyes to run. Aquamarine was stiff on the ground though. He couldn't move anywhere, even when one of the jaspers saw him. She ran up and grabbed him and started forcing them onto one of their ships.
The interior of the ship was large and he one of them was thrown into a personal cell. Across from Aquamarine was White Moonstone. He looked scared beyond belief and Aquamarine wanted to be right there next to him and comfort him. He never knew the full extent of Homeworld and Aquamarine didn't want him to. Moonie looked over at him his face begging for help.
"It's going to be okay Moonie. Just trust me alright" He said gently. White Moonstone nodded but tears brimmed in his eyes.
"I'm right here Moonie, you're not alone," He said hoping something he said would calm the shaken gem.
"I'm scared Aqua, I'm real scared," he said as he started to cry. A jasper walked into prison wing where the four of them were being held.
"If you two don't shut up, I'll have to make one of you," the jasper said in front of their two cells. Aquamarine nodded not wanting to cause any trouble. Moonstone stifled back his cries and nodded as well.
Diagonal from Aquamarine was Obsidian who sat with his hands in his lap. He wasn't crying but he wasn't calm either. He let out a long shaky sigh and kept looking at his hands, hoping that maybe everything would pass. Aquamarine couldn't see Sunstone but could hear him slightly banging the wall in between the two of them. Aquamarine looked back across to Moonie to see him silently sobbing to himself. It broke Aquamarine's heart seeing one of his closest friends so broken, so hurt. He leaned his head against the wall and hoped he could just sit it out and it'll all be over. The fright in his stomach made it hard for him to think clearly.
The jump to Homeworld was a blur for Aquamarine. Once arriving he knew he had been on the flight but he couldn't pin any of the details of it. They were all dragged out and getting taken in different directions. Aquamarine could see Moonie trying to break free of the hard grasp of the jasper and run to him. Aquamarine bit his lip hoping he wouldn't be hurt too much for his actions. The jasper only slapped Moonie and held him tighter. Aquamarine wasn't going to be difficult and didn't put up any fight. They were taken to holding cells to await their trials. A zircon rushed in hurriedly and tried to explain the situation to Aqua. He couldn't pay attention though and gave uninterested nods occasionally.
"Do you understand what you're going to say?" The zircon asked. Aqua just turned slightly and blinked.
"Oh you weren't paying attention were you," She said in a shrill voice.
"No, not particularly," Aquamarine said.
"They know you're guilty but we might be able to get you a lesser punishment if you just pledge yourself again to the diamonds," she said "What will most likely happen is you'll be banished to a planet desolate of anyone and anything. Worst case scenario you'll get shattered"
Aquamarine just nodded and the doors open for him to be taken out in front of the court. White Moonstone, Obsidian and Sunstone were also all being taken out. A beryl sat as the judge for their joint trial. As any trial would proceed, it was drawn out and painful for the four of them to sit through. Moonie looked like he was going to break into tears again and Aqua could see Obsidian trying to inch closer to him to make Moonie feel better.
"Now your sentences" The beryl started. "The Obsidian, Sunstone and Aquamarine will be banished to lifeless planets to live there for eternity"
"And the only way to get the message across to never turn on Homeworld again will be to shatter this disgrace of a Moonstone," she said pointing to him.
"Yellow Quartz would you kindly deal with this waste of space," The beryl said and the Yellow Quartz nodded grabbing onto Moonie.
"No don't hurt him, he's never done anything wrong" Aquamarine yelled trying to pull out of the grasp he was put in. Obsidian and Sunstone were trying to do the same thing and save the person all close to them.
"You gems don't comprehend the vile crimes you committed to this diamond authority" The beryl yelled. "This worthless moonstone will remind you of your mistakes".
Moonie was pulled into the middle of the courtroom and the quartz summoned a large sword to poof him with. Aquamarine kept trying to pull out of the hands of the other yellow quartz holding him back. The sword sliced into Moonie and his eyes went wide before he poofed. Obsidian screamed and started crying as the yellow quartz took White Moonstone's gem into her hand. Almost too easily she crushed him between her hand and Aquamarine screamed. She opened her hand and let the broken pieces fall to the floor.
"MOONIE NO" Aquamarine yelled.
Aqua shot up in bed clutching his chest and looking around his dark room. His breath was shaky and pulled the blankets off of himself. Tears were freely flowing from his eyes as he got out of bed. He opened his bedroom door and made went straight to White Moonstone's room. Without knocking he opened the door and what he saw was Moonie sleeping, his head facing the door and his mouth slightly ajar. Aquamarine walked to him and gently shook him awake.
"Aqua why are you waking me up so early" Moonie groaned flipping over in his bed.
"Moonie can we sleep together tonight," Aquamarine asked still crying. Moonie looked over to see his friend in tears and looking dishevelled.
"Yeah sure Aqua come here," He said gently making space on the bed for Aquamarine to crawl in next to him.
Moonie wrapped his arms around Aqua and could feel how hard his heart was pumping. Aquamarine practically clung to White Moonstone, hoping he'd never leave him.
"What happened Aqua," He asked quietly looking at his friend with big, endearing eyes.
"It was a nightmare Moonie. I...I don't want to talk about it" was all Aquamarine said. Moonie picked up on the message and pulled him closer to his side and rubbed his back.
Aquamarine had seen the one thing he knew he could never live with seeing. He started crying again against Moonie's side and couldn't calm down. Moonie was concerned but wasn't going to press him further so he put his head on top of Aqua's and occasionally would give him a kiss. Thirty minutes were spent like this until he could hear Aqua's breathing calm down and his heartbeat slow. Moonie closed his eyes and hoped that Aquamarine would be better in the morning.
