A knock sounded on the door, revealing Toma and Lucy. The room was grand and ornately fashioned, befitting of Fiore's only princess. Hisui laid on the king size bed, tucked into her blanket as she breathed evenly. Her face was pale and even from a distance, Lucy could tell that she was in pain.
"How long has this been going on?"
"Around two weeks or so," Toma answered, dismissing the servants from the room.
Lucy set her paper umbrella down by the bedside and sat on Hisui's bedside. Kyubey hopped off onto the bed and made its way over to Hisui. It peered at her ill-stricken face before turning away, taking no interest in her whatsoever. Lucy gently caressed her cheek, a soft golden light emitting from her hand. The light died down and Lucy removed her hand.
"Do you know what it is?"
"It's a hereditary disease," Lucy answered. "The same disease that took your wife decades ago."
"Then you mean Hisui is-?!" Toma cried out but Lucy cut him off.
"She's not going to die," Lucy furrowed her eyebrows as she took the bottle of pills from Toma's hand. "I'm not going to let her die, especially on my watch."
Lucy parted Hisui's mouth slightly and inserted the pill into her mouth. Hisui gulped it down and in that moment, Hisui's body glowed a faint pale blue, showing that the pill was doing its work. She let out an agonizing scream and her face contorted in anguish. Lucy watched her with a nonchalant expression as she held her hand while she wreathed in agony. Lucy gripped her hand tightly as she herself let off a soft golden light.
"Lucy-sama, this is...?"
"Normally, a human body wouldn't be able to digest these pills for it's meant to be for the gods. So when using this as medicine on humans, there always has to be an immortal figure by the side," Lucy explained. "That's why in the past, there was no trouble of giving this to humans for the two species lived together in harmony."
Toma watched his daughter soon breath a sigh of relief as the blue light faded away and the only light being emitted was from Lucy. Lucy let go of Hisui's hand and seeing that she was finished, Toma hurried towards the bedside.
"She should be okay now," Lucy said.
Toma clutched Hisui's hand as tears brimmed his eyes. "Hisui, my daughter Hisui," he breathed before turning to Lucy. "Thank you, Lucy-sama. I don't think I can ever repay you in this life of mine after everything that you've done for us."
Lucy smiled softly as she stood up, grabbing her umbrella as Kyubey pounced back onto her. "There's no need to repay me. I'll be taking these as repayment," Lucy waved the bottle of pills. "These might come of use to me later on."
"Are you sure that's all you want for repayment?" Toma asked.
"Yes," Lucy looked at the bottle with a mysterious intent in her eyes. "Besides, it's not much of use in a human's hand and moreover, I already have everything that I need."
Toma chuckled slightly. "That's true."
"Hisui should wake up in an hour or so. Make sure to have her drink plenty of water and eat a full meal," she walked to the door.
"You're not going to stay a little longer?"
"Is there a reason for me to stay?"
"It's been ten years since Hisui last saw you. Knowing her, she'd be more than happy to meet you again."
Lucy eyed the sleeping princess on the bed and gave a quick shake of the head. "It's better for her to think that I was never here to begin with."
Toma sighed. "Are you still unwilling to get close to someone?"
