Sitting on the train that headed towards Fiore's very far east, Lucy sat in the first class train cart, looking out the window with nonchalant eyes. Kyubey laid next to her, fast asleep as always. There was no one else aboard the first class cart beside her and she found the silent atmosphere almost uncomfortable.

She sighed and readjusted her position as she thought about Sting. She already knew based off of last time that she wanted to be with them but this case was different. She wanted to bring him along - she really did want to - but she couldn't. If she did, it would only cause chaos to the order that had long been created. Moreover, ever since the Golden Age ended, the Gate to the Realm of the Dead had long been closed shut. She didn't fear going there but what she feared was that Sting still wouldn't understand why she had left him behind.

Another sigh escaped her lips as she gazed out the window.

She still felt his lips against hers each time he kissed her and a hazy yet lustful look appeared in her eyes. Even though the problem right now was the undead, she did feel like it was thanks to one of them that she realized her budding feelings. She put her hand back down to her side and onto her umbrella, a downcast gaze now looming over her face. But, she didn't love him. At least, she didn't think so.

"Love, huh..." she murmured.

"Myuu," Kyubey gave a silent purr as it nuzzled itself closer, forming more into a ball.

Lucy smiled at it and stroked its elegant and soft fur. She took part of her fur cape and draped it over its body, alleviating some of the coldness that it felt from the air surrounding it. She leaned back into the white cushioned seat, her eyes slowly closing. Traveling to the Underworld was work and dealing with the many problems at hand gave her a headache.

"I'll just sleep the rest of the way there."

She fell down onto the seat, her body making contact with the cushions. She curled herself into a ball, Kyubey right next to her, as she covered herself with the fur cape. The rattling of the train sent her into a deep sleep with no effort at all and soon, she found herself just drifting into unconsciousness. But what bothered her still was Sting. He still didn't understand and just that caused her heart to be burdened with a heavy feeling; a feeling that she couldn't put into words.

A day later~

"Seems like we're finally here," Lucy looked out into the horizon as the cold air billowed her cape back.

Kyubey jumped onto her shoulder and looked around at its surroundings in question. It could smell the ocean breeze wafting through the air and seeing how bright the sun was shining, it flapped its wings and flew into the sun's gaze. Lucy chuckled to herself as it flew excitedly about. Back in Clover Town, there were many shops and so the full luminosity of the sun was often covered. With the sun being the brightest it had seen so far in this world, it flapped its wings eagerly, absorbing the energy of the sun.

"Now then," Lucy faced the direction of the Alvarez Empire. "The real deal begins now."

Traveling to Caracole Island required some work for since the Gate of the Realm of the Dead was located there, using transportation magic wasn't an option. She commanded the water to freeze itself, creating a path for her to go to the island. As expected, the land was barren and the air was stiff and rigid. Even Kyubey seemed to feel the tension in the air for its tail and fur was standing up. Looking around, Caracole Island hadn't changed since the last time she visited. The land was barren and dead with no sign of anything living that as soon as she stepped onto it, the ice bridge disappearing, the dirt beneath her crumbled away. She knitted her eyebrows together and continued walking.
