The five of them entered the entrance to the ship and just as they had seen it from the outside, it was pitch black on the inside. No source of light could be seen and not even a single shadow. As they stepped in, the doors behind them closed with a loud bang, secluding them. They couldn't see their own self, nevertheless each other. But, they did hear the sound of Lucy's heels clack as she stepped on the floor.
"Lucy?" Sting voiced out, trying to see if his voice bounced off anything.
He heard his echoes and now knew the shape of his surroundings. It was a long tunnel-like room and walls surrounded them on all five sides. The only thing they could do was to walk. He felt Rogue, Lector, and Frosch nearby and as he moved, he felt himself bump into something.
"Watch where you're going," Rogue mumbled under his breath as Sting stepped on his shoe.
"Sorry!" Sting immediately backed up.
"Ow~!" Frosch let out a tiny yell and moaned in pain. "Sting, you stepped on Fro's tail~."
"Wahh! Frosch!" Rogue hurriedly went to feel for it. "Hey, Sting, you bastard!"
"Sorry, Frosch!" Sting hurriedly apologized and tried dodging Rogue's punch in the darkness. However, he soon bumped into something; something that felt like feathers. "Mhaf if miph?" he mumbled, tearing it away from his mouth.
"Sting-kun, that's my wing!" Lector yelled, wriggling.
"Lector?!" Sting immediately let go.
In the darkness, they were a complete mess. With no idea where they each were, they could only rely on their extreme sense of hearing and smell. As they felt the area around them, they heard Lucy's heels one more time and they each turned to where they believed Lucy was standing. A ball of fire appeared at the tips of her finger and soon, turned into a blazing small light. The fire reflected off her face in the darkness, her features softening as a warm light flickered in her eyes. She lifted her face and looked at them.
"Better?"
They gulped and nodded their heads. It was much better.
Continuing on their path, they followed Lucy as she stood in front of them, walking without the slightest hesitation. Sting watched her back and widened her eyes as she suddenly turned around to look at him. He gave her a grin and it was now her turn to widen her eyes a little. She quickly turned around and he looked at her quizzically. She picked up her pace and to break the stiff atmosphere, she started a conversation, hoping that Sting didn't see anything abnormal about her.
"Are you guys fine with this?" she asked.
"With what?" Rogue questioned.
"With coming along with me onto this ship," she answered, her long blonde hair flowing behind her. "It's still not too late to turn back."
"Do you want us to?" Sting voiced.
"I'm n-!"
"Then it's fine, isn't it?" he grinned and walked side by side with her, holding her left hand with reassurance. "Lucy, I'm not turning back."
"The same goes for me," Rogue held Lucy's other hand. "We're staying by your side."
"Until the very end," Sting smirked, holding her hand even tighter.
"Fro is staying, too~!" Frosch flew happily by her side.
"Same here!" Lector flew to Lucy's other side. "No matter what!"
Lucy stared at each and every one of them and found her lips curl up in a natural way. Maybe it was the fire that Lucy had lighted but her face seemed to flush a rosy red. However, what they found the most satisfying was the expression on her face. She had on the widest grin that they had ever seen and it was a face of pure happiness. Lucy clutched onto their hands and smiled happily, her eyes overflowing with warmth.
