Hades and Lucy walked through the castle hallways, side by side, as they discussed what they should do about the undead whilst bringing up some talks about the past and what they had been doing. Kyubey sat upon Lucy's shoulder, listening in on their conversation with interest for it had not known Lucy until three years ago.
"Our priority right now is to stop the undead from breaking open the Gate," Hades leaned upon the castle balcony, overlooking the many souls. "As long as they don't pass through, the upper realm won't be disturbed."
"In the worst case scenario, they're going to push open the Gate and with that accomplished, chaos will start ensuing," Lucy said. "Even if we do have enough power to push them back to wherever they came from, there's still the possibility that the mastermind behind all this can just recreate their plan."
Hades sighed. "How did things come to be like this?"
"Maybe if you had noticed that your viewing mirror had been tampered with, then this whole mess wouldn't have happened," Lucy laughed but she was not in the least bit being sarcastic and Hades realized that.
"Then how about giving me your Mirror of the Nine Worlds?" Hades smirked.
"Don't even think about it," she immediately answered. "I don't intend on giving you any one of my three sacred heavenly weapons."
"Stingey," he pouted.
"Excuse me?" a tick mark appeared on Lucy's face.
Then, Hades suddenly jumped up and faced Lucy. "Talking about my viewing mirror," he started, a look of confusion in his eyes. "How did anyone manage to tamper with that? As far as I know, no one can touch it and even if someone did, I would know."
"Then that means that they just have to make sure that you wouldn't know," Lucy simply replied.
Hades raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
"They just have to make sure not to touch the mirror. All they had to do was influence the image that you see in the mirror whenever you looked at the Gate. Not to mention, it's a magic that's hard to sense unless you really tone in on it."
"But even so, how did they manage to get in?"
Lucy looked towards the door and smirked. "Then we just have to ask the person in question who went and tampered with it."
The door blasted open at her command and something tumbled in. Hades immediately stood up and looked at what had come in. However, his shock didn't last long for as soon as he realized what had happened, a murderous aura emitted from both him and Lucy, their eyes glinting with coldness.
"You dare to spy on the King of the Underworld?" Hades's voice was grim and cold.
It was an undead. Having realized that it was standing before the two beings that it was ordered to watch, it started looking around, trying to find an escape route. However, Lucy bent down and looked at it, a smile perched on her lips.
"Who ordered you to do so?" she asked.
It remained silent and reached behind to grab the glass bottle that it was told to bring along everywhere. Hades, realizing what it was planning to do, snapped. He picked up the undead and stared right into its eyes, his turquoise eyes now dark with a tint of red. The bottle dropped from its hand and Lucy picked it up.
"Instant suicide, huh?" she mused at the bottle.
The undead was now squirming around, sweating bullets, as Hades inched nearer to it. It held it by its neck and if he had applied any more pressure, it would've completely disappeared into dust.
