Song: Citizen - The Summer

A million different words, sentences and phrases linger in the world, but I couldn't seem to find one that fit my story perfectly. Sitting in my library room, I stared with a deep frown at the screen of my laptop. Word was completely blank, not a single letter typed down. I bit my fingernails, trying my best to come up with a name for the new story I was planning on writing. Beside the fact that I needed a change, I had also come to Baltimore to launch my career as a published author. I'd been writing ever since high school, but all the stories I'd done before where stolen plots or cheesy events. I was unsatisfied with them.
Stevie Wonder played in the background, serving as a useless attempt to give me inspiration. I sighed, running my hand over my face in pure exhaustion. The last hour had been spent crossing out, erasing and retyping names for the story. Although I had yet to develop a solid plot, I always found that creating names for the story and characters helped me develop the plot a lot better. Yet, my mind was completely blank as I sat on the leather chair.
Closing my laptop, I decided to continue my pursuit of writing on Sunday. I turned off the record player and walked out of the office with slumped shoulders. Myra was in the living room, playing with her dolls while she watched Ellen and ate a PB&J sandwich. Her head turned in my direction as I sat down on the recliner chair, exhausted from the events that had taken place throughout the day. My entire morning was dedicated to buying and putting away groceries, washing the car and buying a few random things from the store for Myra and I.
The stress of not being able to think of a name for a story only wore me out even more. "Myra," I said, deciding that the only real way to relieve some of the stress was to relax not only my conscious, but also my body. She set her dolls down and sat up from the carpet floor, a curious gleam in her brown eyes. "Would it be alright if I did yoga by myself for a little while?" I asked her.
The only reason why I bothered asking was because Myra would sometimes bother me while I was trying to relax back in London. Because I couldn't really do sports of work out, I would settle with doing Yoga in my bedroom when I felt stressed out. It really did help and I found that the exercise would always put me in a good mood.
Nodding, Myra turned her attention back to her dolls. I stood up from the recliner and started to my bedroom. I looked through my closet until I found my black yoga pants and a white tank top. I quickly changed into the clothing and tied my hair into a ponytail. I searched through my things until I found my rolled up yoga mat.
Closing my bedroom door, I plugged my iPod into the dock and smiled once the sound of Train's music started softly playing through the speakers. I stood over the mat, my back faced the door as I stretched my arms and legs. I laid down over the mat, my arms rested to my sides as I slowly started to lift my hips off the floor. I held my position like this for a good seven seconds, a burning sensation shot through my thighs as I did so. I dismissed this as just punishment for not doing yoga for almost three weeks.
The music changed from Train to Paramore as I did my final pelvic tilt. Standing up from the mat, I leaned forward, bending my knees as I moved my hands above my head on the ground. My bum positioned high in the air and I held the downward dog position for ten breaths.
Well, at least I tried to do this anyways. My eyes closed as I continued to hold the position. I smiled as my mind slowly began to relax.
"Abella!" The door swung open and three figures appeared into my bedroom; Myra, Jack and Alex. Myra ran towards me, her loud voice causing me to loose my position and fall face first on the floor. I groaned, rubbing my hand against my head as I tried to cease the small pain that shot through my skull. Jack burst out laughing as he started toward me and helped me off the floor.
