The moment Jeffrey and Alex left the crowded airport and climbed into a nice looking cab, Alex felt like he was going to pass out any second. The flight turned out to be better than he expected, which he knew only came from the fact that Jeffrey had managed to keep his mind off of things for a good portion of it. He'd be lying if he said things didn't feel different with Jeffrey. In the short eight hours they had spent together, Alex was able to see a whole new side of Jeffrey that he had never seen before.

Normally, Alex would be greeted with the smug and oh-so arrogant Jeffrey Grace. But after actually spending some time with him and actually getting to know him a bit better, Alex realized that he wasn't such a bad person after all. He was actually pretty tolerable. Yes, he made incredibly lame jokes and sometimes, his smug side came out. But all in all, Jeffrey seemed like a pretty decent guy.

The thing that Alex probably hated the most out of the trip was this, because he now realized just how much better Jeffrey was for Abella.

Still, this wasn't about to change a damn thing because of one simple reason; Alex was selfish. He couldn't deny his selfish feelings and he wouldn't let any other man but himself have Abella. If she really chose to end things with him, then that was fine. But he wasn't going to just give up. No, he was going to fight for the woman he loved.

"That was painful." Jeffrey sighed beside him. He felt just as exhausted as Alex, if not more. At least Alex was able to get some sleep. Meanwhile, Jeffrey couldn't even rest for more than five minutes without being awaken by the annoying couple sat in front of them. Toward the end of the flight, the two had spent their time loudly talking about things Jeffrey couldn't really bother to care about. They were so loud that the flight attendants even had to come and ask them to quiet down. But did they listen?

Of course they didn't.

Alex nodded in agreement and pressed his forehead against the glass, staring blankly at the familiar scenery that passed by. Not a lot had changed about London since he'd left, but at the same time; it felt like he was visiting the city for the very first time. He smiled at the sight of the old school he used to attend, one that held nothing but great memories of his childhood. Most of the teachers loved Alex, that was something obvious to everyone at the school.

Alex sighed and turned away, a mixture of emotions beginning to slowly boil inside him. He felt conflicted, unsure whether the feeling inside him were that of happiness, sadness, anger, or a sick mixture of all three.

He felt happy seeing the memories that came with almost every place they passed by.

He felt sadness once he realized just how much he actually missed his hometown.

He felt anger toward his parents for taking away the chance of having a happy childhood.

If he had stayed in London, things would have probably been so different. He wouldn't have gone through the trauma that he had during his teenage years. He probably would have gotten with Abella sooner, seeing as his feelings had developed ever since he first laid eyes on her. Of course, he wasn't in love with her when they were children. But he couldn't deny that he felt a strange feeling of protection and affection whenever he was near the dark haired girl.
