Song; Don't Let Me Go - Harry Styles

Abella stared at her reflection in the full size mirror, wondering if she could just call Martin and tell him that the date was off- to just go home and forget about everything. But she knew that it was already too late. He was on his way over, five minutes away, according to his last text message. She was already dressed in her white dress that reached just inches above her knees. She made sure to wear black tights underneath, not wanting to expose anymore skin than necessary.
Her hair was curled, reaching just at the mid section of her stomach. She had on a bit of make up, but not too much since she never really liked having her face caked in products. She looked nice, and she was certain the restaurant that Martin would be taking her to was a decent establishment. But she couldn't help feeling that she should have listened to Alex. He was so desperate to have her stay, to decline the plans she had set up with his friend.
Abella sighed, turning away from the reflection in her mirror. Her sister was gone, staying over at Jack's house since Emily was gone for the rest of the week and weekend. Abella truly didn't trust Jack to watch her little sister. She doubted he knew a thing about caring for a seven year old. But luckily, Mary offered to help out while she went on her date.
Abella apologized repeatedly for dropping the young girl on the couple so suddenly, but they both insisted that it was no trouble at all. Now, Abella quickly shoved her things into her small purse, hurrying toward the front door as she heard the sound of the doorbell ring around her. She swung the door open, smiling once she saw her date standing on the porch.
Martin Adams certainly knew how to clean himself up. His hair was perfectly styled, a blue v-neck with black pants and black converse completed his outfit. In his right hand, he held a small bundle of tulips. Abella smiled, her heart warmed at the friendly gesture. But that's all she saw it as; a friendly gesture, nothing more and nothing less.
"You look beautiful, love." Martin said, grabbing her hand as he led her into his car. Abella noticed how clean his car was compared to the last time. She wondered if everything Alex had said to her was a lie- a way to manipulate her. Martin didn't seem to be the type who would just use her for her body. Even if he was, there was no way she would let him get in between her legs. She swore to give herself up to a man she loved and trusted.
She watched as he started the car and pulled out of the driveway. "Um, Abella," Martin said, trying his best not to squirm in the seat. His eyes fixed on the rode, knuckles turning white as he gripped the steering wheel tightly. "I just want to say that I'm sorry for trying to kiss you the other night. I don't know what came over me. I just, you're really pretty and I really want this to work for us." He said. "So, can we just pretend like that never happened?" His eyes moved to her, but quickly flickered back to the road.
Abella cast her eyes to the window beside her. The sun was beginning to fall and the stars were coming out. So badly she wanted to forget about the forced kiss. But at the same time, she felt it to be wrong to just 'forget'. "Yes," she whispered after a few seconds. "Let's just forget about it." Martin nodded, cracking a smile as he put on an old cassette tape.
"I know they're outdated." He said, the sound of Simple Minds started to play through the speakers. "But my dad had this whole collection of 'em left in his garage. He passed away two years ago and I kinda inherited all the crap that old man left behind. If I can say I got one good thing out of that bastard, I'd say it was these cassette tapes." He grinned widely and turned up the volume.
The ride lasted about ten minutes before they finally pulled into the parking lot of an Asian restaurant. Martin rushed out and hurried to open Abella's door. She smiled, setting the tulips down on her seat before she closed the door behind her. "This is the best Asian place in town." Martin said, still holding on to Abella's hand. She tried not to notice how tight his grip was, or how uncomfortable it seemed to make her.
