as we walked out in the crowd, fans cheered and cheered.

"brooklynn! brooklynn! brooklynn!" they'd say.

and the girls...
"omg, it's finnick odair!!"

i couldn't blame them.
this one girl grabbed my arm.
"you're my hero." she mumbled.

i smiled. "thank you."

"see," finnick said. "they love you."

"not as much as they loved you."
i crossed my arms as he laughed.

this other girl, maybe eighteen, stopped me. she looked familiar but it wouldn't ring a bell.

"brook. i'm Alta. Althea's sister."

"oh," i frowned. "i'm sorry."

"don't be. you didn't do anything. just wanted to know if we could hang. be friends. like you and Althea were."

"of coarse." i smiled. "i'll catch ya later."

she nodded.

*after*

i waited at my doorstep next to finnick and clayton, waiting for Alta.

she soon came.

"hi. can i sit here?" she approached, asking clayton to sit next to me.

"yes. go ahead."

clayton scooted away and she sat down.

"so...you must be finnick odair." she said. "'the angel sent from heaven.'"
she quoted.

finnick chuckled.
"yea, i guess."

"and you're..?" she looked at clayton.

"clayton westbay. brook's brother." he held out a hand and they shook.

"nice to meet both of you. i'm Alta."

they nodded.

"can i talk to brook?" she asked. clayton and finnick nodded and finnick kissed my forehead as they both left.

"listen, i feel bad about Althea. i should have volunteered." i confessed.

"listen, brooklynn. it was not your fault. at all. ok? you barely knew her. quit apologizing." Alta said.

i nodded.

"how old is your brother?"
she asked, calmly, trying to hide a smile.

woooooow, i thought.

"nineteen." i said, laughing.

"is he single? just wondering." alta blushed.

i laughed even harder.
"yes."

"he's kinda cute."

i chuckled. "so...friends?"

"friends."

we shook hands and smiled.
