•Finnick's POV•
Brook was wearing a stunning golden dress and I couldn't help but stare.

I shook my head, getting out of my trance and walked to the end of the train.

We arrived sooner than imagined and it was a lonely ride.

"Alright, everyone, exit one by one. Mags, then Finnick, Brooklynn, the Bowie...Now!" Announced Penia.

We all stepped off the train and waved at adoring fans.

"There they are, folks! Our now United Districts! District four and six!" Caesar Flickerman said.

I tried to smile but I couldn't with Brook beside me.

Looking at her brought back lots of memories...

I wanted to cry. And honestly, I never really cry. I did wave and force a fake smile. Brook seemed to be doing fine, though. Maybe she really didn't love me anymore. Maybe I really did break her.

It was time to move on.
From Brook.
From everything.
I had to focus on the games.
But I couldn't move on from her, she had to win.

All 24 tributes sat down and waited for their turn to get interviewed. Cashmere and her brother from District 1, faked the tears. We had to do everything we could to stop the games.

Districts 2 and 3 came up then Mags. Before I knew it, I was up.

"Finnick!" Said Caesar.
"I hear you have a message for someone out there, a special someone."

I shook my head.
"It's no use now, Caesar."

I could feel Brook's eyes on me in fright.

"And why is that?" Caesar asked.

I looked down and Caesar seemed to understand.

"Oh. Well, good luck."

I nodded and walked up to sit next to Mags and the tribute from District 5.

District 5 went through and then Brook.

"Brooklynn Westbay!" Caesar announced.

"Hey, Caesar." She replied, happily.

"How are you? You seem happy."

Brook shrugged. "It's been a stressful weak, tryin to hide the pain, ya know?" She whispered.

Caesar laughed. "Ahh, yes, I see. And how are you and Mr. Odair?"

Brook couldn't force the smile anymore. It dropped to a frown.
"We're...we'd have to leave each other either way."

And she was right.
Either I would die or she would die. Or maybe we could both win.

Caesar nodded. "I'm sorry. Well good luck and I hope I see you again."

Brook left her seat and walked up next to Bowie and the other District 5 tribute. I looked at her.
I couldn't stop. Since she won the games, I couldn't keep my eyes off her.

I couldn't keep my eyes off her now.
Until she caught my glance.
