The police official stood just outside the door as I sat in the small room with Leon George whom was still handcuffed.

He was about 18 years old, African American 6'1, slim, and scared.

When I looked at him sympathy ran threw my body knowing he was about to be charged as an adult.

He had shot his step dad in the head two days after his step dad had attempted to run his mom over. But his step dad survived. He was in critical
Condition, paralyzed, and slowly improving although there was no chance in him fully recovering, no more than learning to talk again.

He was a big guy for his age but he had soft baby features and spoke very educated and mature.

As I performed three test on his of M'Naghten Rule, irresistible impulse, and Durham which were psychological test to diagnose or implicate that he was truly temporarily insane when the murder was attempted, it hit me that my life could have been a lot worse but that every one is dealing with demons.

Leon was being charged as an adult which could lead to him losing his entire life of freedom.

These test were extremely important and essential. That was the one thing I hated about this job, having to deal with cases like this.

I glimpsed at the time noticing Dr.Jones meeting had run way over but I just proceeded on recording my findings.

It took me quite some time to close out the first test and assure he was comfortable before the session came to a closing.

I wrote the results down then walked Leon to the door where he was recuffed like an animal and lead to the front where rick was waiting.

"How did it go?" Rick asked.

"You know I can't disclose that information to
You just yet." I replied without making eye contact.

"Come on Madison it's me... are you serious... what's really the issue?

"Nothing, but I'm not going to lose my job just to give you what you want."

"Well hell I moved my job and nearly lost my wife on account of you."

"Those were all your choices! You know what you are still the selfish man I remembered you as."

Rick paused in his steps inhaling and trying to collect his thoughts while finding the right words.

"What happen to the baby?" He asked as I peered  caught off guard of the topic of discussion.

I turned to rick slowly looking at him for the first time and connecting eyes.

"I lied." I replied telling a lie about the truth I had quickly made the decision not to disclose.

Ricks face turned to one of confusion as he collected his thoughts.

"You lie?" .... "you lied about being pregnant Madison, why would you do such a sick thing?"

"Because I wanted nothing else to do with you and I figured that would do the trick of keeping you away."

"Well you've kept me at bay instead constantly switching your telephone number and moving out of town. I thought maybe you really were pregnant. You really need to re-evaluate yourself maybe that entire Kamron ordeal took a tole on you. You should probably seek counseling."

"I don't need it I'm fine... as you can see."

"Yeah on the outside but you have some twisted things going on in the inside. How could you create such a lie, for years I believed that you could have been pregnant. And constantly it crossed my mind that you just had lied ... and I was right." He chuckled in disbelief shaking his head as I stood there intaking the discussion we were having.
