"I'm sorry babe', I went out grocery shopping with Gigi I didn't realize you called so many times."  I lied standing in the middle of the kitchen with the three grocery bags that housed dinner.

I knew I couldn't tell Steph I took Gigi  to my parents and for what, so as a cover I went and picked up grocery as soon as I got back into town. Steph had picked up the kids and they were off doing homework and here I was lying for the first time.

Steph bit his bottom lip analyzing the story I was telling him without saying a word.

"I texted and called you for the last hour."

"I know I left my phone in the car."

"Just don't make no sense Madison but aiight, lemme go check on princess. You can get started on dinner, I'm hungry as hell." He shrugged leaving me to stand in my lie.

I knew he didn't believe me but he wasn't going to press any further to start an argument in which made me feel so guilty. But I had to be independent in fixing my own problems this time around.

Tomorrow I needed to search for a job and lawyers for the both of my cases.

Relieving my arms from the weigh of the bags I set on the black marvel counters, I began to unpack tonight's dinner.

"Madi." The small voice of Allure called entering the kitchen with her empty dora cup.

"Yes my baby."

"I want juice—peasseee?"

"How about some water, you have to eat dinner baby."

"But I want juiceeee."

"How can I say no to my little lolo just a little bit though."

"No lotsssss mommy lots."

"Girl you will get half a cup, that'll quench your little thirst." I replied giggling filling the cup up with the apple juice and securing the cap.

"Thank you mommy Madi."

"Well beloved you're welcome." I sung kissing her little chunky cheeks.

"Do you want to cook with mommy?"

"Cook? What?

"Yes coookkk little bug. We are having macaroni and steak with veggies on the side, you love Mac and cheese, don't you!"

"Mmmmm- Mac and cheese. I like Mac and cheese."

I laid one last kiss on her cheek before suggesting, "finish your juice and we can get started mommy's little helper."

I enjoyed spending the smallest moments with my babies. Knowing that I could've been behind bars makes me more vulnerable in the smallest of moments.

Within the next hour and a half the house was scented with the seasoned full course meal of dinner and the kids were scraping their plates clean waiting on seconds.

After serving them it was bath time one by one. Luckily Power and Gigi were independent. It seemed as if Gigi had passed her illness and we were all relieved to see her little personality coming back slowly but surely.

Allure couldn't manage another second so I laid her to bed and was greeted by Steph washing the dishes at my return.

"You haven't said much babe, how was your day?" I ask wrapping my arms around his waste and landing a kiss on his spine.

"You lied." His voice delivered  without holding back.

"Lied? What are you talking about?
