"When do I meet your parents?" I asked breaking the awkward silence as we began our road Trip back to pick up the kids.

"My parents stay in Washington, you wanna take a flight?"

"A flight, I've had enough. Maybe in the future we can."

"Well it's worth a try. Maybe you, I, and the kids can take a vacay there."

"Why are you so good to me?"

"Because I wanna make up for every one who wasn't."

Steph gripped my hand lifting it to kiss as we took on the rainy road ahead.

"We can't go to the school together. These people are going to go nuts." I chuckled.

"So what. You're  my woman. I gotta let everybody know."

"You are quite the character."

"Glad I can be. You don't wanna be my wife."

"You're definitely a silly guy."

"Why I gotta be funny, I'm serious."

"You're really serious huh?"

"Yes Madison. I want to make you into a woman. My woman, a better woman. I see so much more for you than the pain you've been threw."

"I'm glad you see something in me. Happiness seems so far away from where I am now."

"It's called depression. Sometimes you have to go threw that to get to your happy place. —have you ever tried the therapy shit?"

"The therapy shit?" I grinned. "Seeing a psychiatrist?"

"Yea, you and Power. What you were forced to do aint something you gone just get pass in a day or week or even month or year. But there are resources that can definitely help you. Outside of me."

"I have and I will. It's all about getting my life together and stable enough to even be able to go sit down with a psychiatrist."

"Tomorrow Madison."

"Tomorrow what?"

"I'm taking you and power."

"You move fast. Faster than I can keep up."

"That's because I'm not gone let you slack. We gone get you to this happy place Madi May."

"Steph. I don't want you to have to do everything for me. I can be independent and put effor—."

"I know you can and you have for so long Madi May. But you've never had a real Man. A man like ME." Steph chuckled making me join in giggling.

"Okay you are definitely a clown."

"I'm your clown and your mannnn—- I wannnaaaa be yourrrr mannnnn." Steph sung snapping his fingers in the silliest way making me crack up.

"I can't with you Steph."

In no time we were pulling up to pick up the kids. This was a feeling like no other for the first time being with a man in an emotional way.

I had never experienced being a family with a male companion, picking up our children from school.

"Come on wifey."

"Are we really going to do this?" I questioned blushing uncontrollably.

"Oh yes ma'am we are. Now get yo fine ass out before I embarrass you."

I grabbed the handle to the door following Steph out feeling like a teenager.
