Chapter 9

"Jasonnnn!" I gasped rushing over to my once little brother who stood now 6'1 and was a 17 year old graduate, who had a girlfriend accompanying him by the name of Shanda.

"Where my boy Power!" Jason asked looking around the front area after he had introduced us to his girlfriend.

"He's in the den." I pointed.

My father followed after him, leaving me holding Allure who was fast asleep at the doorway.

Angela and Rick exited my fathers office, bumping directly into me and the baby who by the look of Angela's face really said her daughter was identical.

An expression of disparity and contained shock covered Angela's face without control as her eyes landed directly on Allure.

It said everything that I had kept a secret for so long. I could tell Angela had been hit with the same truth, that the baby I was carrying during the trial and the accusation from Norton in his closing statement about Rick and I having an affair was true. For the few seconds we stood there felt like eternity.

"Is,... this Allure?" Angela stuttered, nervously.

"Yea, she's sleep per usual." I smiled uncomfortably as Angela took a couple of steps forward never taking her eyes of Allure.

It was rather an attempt to get a better look or come to terms.

" she's gorgeous, beautiful... isn't she rick?" Angela asked in a soft tone still staring at my daughter.

Rick connected eyes with me briefly answer, "Yeah, you better go check on the kids." He suggested stepping up to rub her shoulders.

"No, why don't you honey. I have to finish up here." She replied still softly, now giving Rick eye contact with a small smile.

Rick hesitated for a moment before departing leaving just the two of us standing there.

"She looks just like Rick and I daughter." Angela uttered straight forward yet with a smile, her presence made me uneasy yet she was so pleasant.

Although her words yielded me I knew at some point I would need to answer.

"Does she, I don't really see it." I faked smiled glimpsing at allure asleep in my arms still.

"Did you sleep with Rick?" Angela asked firmly, without the smile she once had.

"Excuse me?"  I replied caught completely off guard, beginning to fill with anxiety.

"Did you fuck my husband?"

"Angela I think that is very inappropriate."

"Cut the bull shit Madison, you're a woman now, not that little girl you use to be. Now I'll ask again, better yet, I know you did, the real question is... Is my husband the father of Allure?"

"No angela he is not, and the fact that you're asking me this is very offensive. And again inappropriate."

Angela looked away smirking nodding her head before her eyes landed back on me.

"Rick is my husband, my best friend, and the father of my kids. We've built our own empire, so if you think you're going to victimize your way back into our lives and pull this little stunt. You're in for a very rude awakening."

As Angela grumbled those words I realized I was seeing a side of her I had never saw. But after all I had been through I was not going to take her threats no matter the circumstances.

"Are you threatening me?"

"It's not a threat the least bit, it's a woman's plan to keep her family happy. You did the right thing moving away and hiding your face, their face."

"Angela don't ever threaten me let alone my children. I don't know what the hell you're assuming but, I don't appreciate it the least bit."

"Assume?! No darling We tried to help you, I tried to help you. I gave my husband to you thinking he was in trusting hands, I moved my family across the country, and you betrayed me. You know for years I battled with this, thinking what I would say to you. But you're really not even worth the breath. Pathetic." She insulted in a vicious tone that only rung my ears, before dismissing herself and walking away leaving me dumbfounded and utterly shocked.

"Defending a man you barely know after all of these years, who's really the pathetic one." I snapped, as she stalled for a moment hearing my words before continuing on her way.
