My mom pulled the jaguar out front of Angela's home, where I noticed the new appearance of a ford truck was parking into the garage. I knew instantly it was rick.

"Speaking of me speaking as your mother, why don't you confide in me as a daughter?" My mother asked.

"You know exactly why, I don't hate you mom, I hate how you treat me." I replied.

"How exactly do I treat you Madison?"

"Like an outsider."

"You're nolonger a teen, stop this bashful game. I've always treated you with love, I've just never agreed with some of your actions. And how should I treat you if you leave me no other choice but to believe what my intuition tells me is true. You may not know this, but I don't believe in adultery. During the trial I had a feeling your father was having an affair on me when he came back here. So to know my Daughter became the same woman a mistress, disturbed me. But I would never want to hurt you I only want to guide you and those babies."

I sighed , centering my attention to the vision of Angela coming onto the porch. She now had on a white t-shirt and jeans with a pair of yeezy sneakers that she wore so well.  Rick appeared behind her it was like watching television on mute.

Clearly they were sharing a joke because they both were laughing so pleasantly. As rick followed her out to the car like they were teenagers. It wasn't until they got midway to the lawn that I noticed he had the baby girl in his arms and Angela realized I was in the front seat.

"Hello, hello. Hey Madison." She greeted excitedly, opening the back door.

"Hey Angela. Why don't you get in the front." I offered unbuckling my seatbelt.

"Oh no I'm fine, girl thank you." She declined.

My mom rolled down her window, acknowledging rick.

"How you doing mister."

"Good great happy to be home." He smiled kissing his daughter who I realized looked like my Allure.

"That girl look just like you, lord."

"Oh don't boost his head." Angela blurted out smiling like they had just met.

"She's a hater, hey Madison how are you?" Rick asked leaning over the door making eye contact with me catching me off guard.

"Hi, I'm good you?" I replied filling with anxiety.

"Great great, nice seeing you. Where's the babies?" He asked.

"They're in the house." My mother answered quickly before I could form the words.

"Aww man I can't wait to see power! Can I go say hey to my peoples, junior I and Kay need something fun to do anyhow. Your little one about this age right?" He asked as if he didn't know.

"Yes." I smiled uneasily wanting rick to see either of my kids.

"I think she's sleep though." I mentioned trying to deter him.

"She'll be alright, she sleeps enough, feel free to wake her."

As my mother said those words I could've killed her.

"Oh rick don't bother that baby, he is always waking Kay up she hates him." Angela laughed.

"Be nice to me, say be nice to my daddy. I'll catch y'all later, we gearing up to have fun." Rick said kissing Kay as he turned to walk away.

I tried my best to hide my uneasiness.  As my mother drove off my anxiety took over that I had to refrain from display.

"I wish you stayed closer, our little ones could have play dates." Angela said breaking the silence.

"I know that would be perfect."

"So how's life been treating you, you look great."

"Thanks, it's been a blessing."

"Yes, and hopefully it stays that way, kamrons due for parole." My mother mentioned entering the conversation as if she were invited.

"Oh god, no really! Who the hell would release him? I sure hope he doesn't get out. Does rick know?"

"I don't know if her dad told him yet, well hopefully he stays on the other side of the world." She added, turning on her blanker.

"I don't even want to breath his name. I just want this to be a beautiful thanksgiving full of things we all are thankful for." I said on a brighter note.

"Well, Angela I was telling Madison it's very essential for her to have a decent male figure in these children's life from your perspective what would you think?"

"Mom, let it go." I firmly stated giving her the evil eye with no hesitation.

"I'll keep my opinion to myself. However I can't wait to see how power and how big he's gotten. Lord the time has flown." Angela uttered trying to change the subject.

Before long we were at the grocery store shopping for all the essential thanksgiving foods and the Walmart was packed as heck. I hadn't been around this many people since college.  I don't know why my mind kept running back to Kamron but it was beginning to make me sick.

Seeing Angela was enough of a reminder of rick, being home was a reminder of everything bad.  I was more than anxious to make it back to the house and see just what was happening and if rick had made his rounds to Allure.

I think my mother could tell because she was always trying to read my body language and how I was disengaged with the conversations.

As her jaguar pulled into the drive way I grabbed the first two bags to pretend as if I were helping and rushed into the house dropping the groceries onto the counter and following the voice of rick. I glimpsed out of the kitchen door to see my dad, power, and jr outside playing a game of catch.

But the voice of rick was humming from the den, where I found him sitting in the chair with Allure in one hand and Kay in the other rocking them to sleep like this was straight out of a movie.

I stood there for a moment frozen before speaking.

"What are you doing?"

I already knew exactly what he was doing it was just the fact that it wasn't sitting right with me.

"Putting my girls to sleep, they're tired." He replied, softly peering down at Allure fast asleep in his right arm.

"She is not your child." I snapped, marching over and taking her out of his arms so roughly I nearly woke her.

Rick stood to his feet positioning Kay over his shoulder.

"You're sick and I'm going to prove she is mine and when I do I'd like to have her in my life to meet and bond with her father and siblings."

His words frustrated me both mentally and physically. "And your wife, if she were yours Rick, just what the hell would you tell your wife!" I questioned now standing face to face with him.

"She's very understanding. She already had her suspicions it wouldn't be a surprise. Let me handle that." He replied unbothered.

"She isn't your daughter. Now I refuse to do this. Stop it." I demanded in. Whisper that I wasn't shy about.

The sound of my mother and Angela's voices slowly entered the back, causing a draw to out conversation.

"Well we'll be finding out soon."  Rick replied Tapping on his back pocket where the end of a plastic ziplock bag stuck out slightly.

I didn't have any idea what in the hell that meant but all my mind could imagine was that he had swabbed my babies mouth for a dna sample. I could've killed him then and there if my mom hadn't appeared meeting him at the door.
