Chapter 45

I felt the left side of the bed sink in, awakening me from the lite slumber. As I opened my eyes the alarm clock  read 11:58pm.

Steph was shuffling into bed, attempting to go unnoticed, when I rolled over.

"Damn I thought you was sleep vampire."

"You stayed late at work?"

"Yeah had to run some numbers and see about getting this new drink on the street shelves. The entrepreneur in me never stops."

"How'd it go?"

"Pretty good, numbers adding up and we're going to go full force. Sorry I missed dinner. I just had some of the meatloaf it was bomb."

"Glad you liked it. I should probably tell you I'm working in town tomorrow with my mom."

"Oh really? Why if you don't mind me asking."

"She needed a little help, That's all."

"Oh well cool then, that weird dude won't be around will he?"

"Who?"

"Rick?"

"No! Ofcourse not! I wouldn't be around him if my life depended on it."

"Well I hope you have a wonderful
Day. This will be great for you and your mom to bond and rebuild."

"Yeah I hope so."

"I know so, think of it in a good light and go in there with the right mind set."

"You always manage to have such a good outlook on things, I knew you'd be happy."

"Ofcourse I would, even though I know you don't have to work. So if anything goes wrong don't stay just because you feel you have to. Your happiness and state of mind Comes first. Now what are we doing for Powers birthday?"

"He wants a back yard party."

"Really? That's too regular I'm thinking we rent out LEGO world downtown."

"Oh gosh no, we can't afford that."

"Yes we can! And we will."

" no sir, he just wants to have a regular degular party at his grandparents."

"Yeah well after that we gone do it big at LEGO world invite all his friends from school and teachers maybe even your parents."

"That's too short notice babe."

"It ain't when it's free, see you have to think smart. People love free shit."

I giggled, touching his beard with the tips of my manicured nails. "I'm sorry about how I acted earlier."

"It's understandable babe, I just don't ever want you to think I'd choose them over you. If I wanted them I would've married them way before I met you."

"Can you blame me? I overheard some of the guest commenting on being the next Mrs.Steph." I pouted kissing his lips.

"Who got the ring, I ain't worried about none of them nappy headed pit bulls. I got the best of the best and I ain't giving it up."

"I really love you Steph."

"I love you more."

And just like that I was back on cloud nine  feeling like the luckiest woman in the world.
