Chapter 57

"Is this our new home?" Power asked as we awoke in the 5 star hotel in downtown North Carolina. I had been ignoring Steph and many of my family calls since the Cory date with no intentions of answering.

The court order kept repeating in my mind as I tried to come to terms with what I was being asked and the Deja vu reoccurring.

"No baby, I just wanted to spend some time."

"Well can we atleast have breakfast  I'm starving."

"Me too." Allure added making me smile at the sight of my gorgeous children.

"Well since the two of you have casted breakfast on the island why don't we get up and go get some food?"

"Can we just order room service?" Asked Power, grabbing the menu off of the night stand.

"That's not fun though. Is it?"

"Nooo that's not fun let's go to Larry's." Allure suggested.

"How about we go to a special place Sally's. Power you've been! Didn't you like it."

"YESSS THATS A GOOD PLACE."

I giggled, "Alright then Sally's it is.. mommy's going to go take a shower, you too sit tight and watch cartoons until I'm done."

"Ok." They both answered in unison As I wrestled Out of bed collecting my belongings and starting for the shower.

I knew I was tense and didn't sleep very well so I turned the shower to the highest power of steam to relax or atleast attempt.

The restroom filled with the steam like a smoking chimney as I undressed and got into the shower realizing how my life had changed in the last 48 hours.

I went from happy to depressed and angry, engaged to single, and content to disgruntled. Words really couldn't describe my emotions but the shower gave me some temporary form of relief.

Returning to the room, Steph was sitting on the bed with the kids including Gigi nearly knocking me off of my feet.

I didn't want to cause a scene in front of the children so I solemnly asked. "What are you doing here and how did you get in here?"

"I know people. And Madison I love you, I can't let you go through this alone."

"I'm not alone I have my children... for now... I just need space."

"Baby I know you're angry with me. But I can't explain how sorry I am and I would never do anything to jeopardize us losing Allure I love her like she's my own and I love you even more for creating her."

Steph followed me off onto the balcony of the third floor.

"I have to do something for myself today." I finally replied after we stood in complete silence.

"Whatever it is baby I'm supporting you, what is it? You need a better lawyer I'll pay. You wanna move somewhere nicer we can do that. I wanna make things right baby."

"Steph— it doesn't involve that. Any of that. I have to do something for myself that I've been afraid of doing for a long while and I'm no longer fearing the consequences."

"What?"

"Just—could you watch the kids."

"Yeah—-whatever you need I'm here."

"I just need you to watch the kids and then when can figure everything else out."

"Are you going home?"
