Alice

We just stood there for sometime until my breathing started to get heavier."Al are you alright?"Sam's concerned voice penetrated through my thoughts.

"I need my anti depressants."I told him and burried my head into his chest.

"Where are the pills?"He asked.

"My clutch."I replied.

"And where is the clutch?"He asked again.

"With Jo."I said.I felt him pull out his cell phone but I didn't ask him anything my breathing was getting heavier after every second.

"Alice"I heard Jake call me from behind and Sam let me go a little reluctantly.When Jake saw me his eyes widened"What happened?"

He came to me and pulled me into his arms."What happened?"He asked again and I just shook my head.I felt his arms tighten around me.

"Al here you go."Sam said,I saw him with a pill in his hand with a bottle of water.

Sam helped me gulp down the pill and I sat there on the bar for sometime while Sam told Jake what happened with Sam's every word Jake's hand balled into the fists tighter but when he looked at me his eyes softened he rushed to me and hugged me tightly.

I looked around for Mr.Anderson but couldn't find him.When I was looking around I saw Xander approaching me his eyes were full of guilt.

I broke the hug with Jake and turned to Sam "no matter what happens don't let me leave until the reception is over."I said and he nodded his head.

I saw someone tapping Xander on his shoulder and he turned around the person said something to him after hearing him he threw me one last glance and walked away to sit with his wife.

Soon there was a clanking sound of glass heard from the platform built in the reception hall.A man was standing on the stage with a wine glass in his hand."Time for the toast which will be given by Alexander's sister,Alice Anderson."The person smiled and my eyes widened with shock.

Who is he!?Nobody here knows except for few people that I 'm his sister.Wait the real question is who made him do this?

I looked around and my eyes once again fell on smirking Mr.Anderson.I instantly looked away and saw some people staring at me with shock and disbelief.

Sam held me by my waist tightly."It's okay you don't have to do this."He whispered in my ear.

"No,I will do this."I said and looked at him.I looked across the hall at a fuming Vic."Please go and handle Vic."I said.

He nodded and I went towards the platform I climbed the single step of the platform and went in the middle.

I looked at Xander and started"Xand-Alexander"I quickly corrected myself and saw the hurt flash through his eyes"Its so good to see you happy and married.It feels like it was yesterday when we use to chase each other in our lawn,with you pulling my pigtails and me punching you and teasing you about how thin you were but look at you now all bulky and changed,starting a new phase of your life with the person you love.I hope you always stay happy and I wish you both a happy married life."I finished all the while looking at Xander so many mixed emotion swam through his eyes.

I was thankful that my voice didn't break and was steady.I forced a smile on my face and walked down the platform and went towards the bar.

I was going to go out and catch a cab as soon as the reception is over.I didn't want to confront anyone about this.

I settled down on a seat and asked for a glass of tequila the bar tender quickly poured me a glass and I gulped it down in one go and asked for another one.

From the corner of my eyes I saw Sam,Vic,Jo and Jake approaching me but I paid no attention to it and gulped down the  whole glass the liquid burning my throat and making my mind a little dazy.

When they were all in front of me,I stood up from my seat.Vic was going to say something but I cut him off.

"I want to be alone for sometime."I said.

"But" Vic started to say but Jo stopped him.

"Let her be for sometime."She said and they all walked off but Sam stopped after taking two steps he turned around to look at me his eyes filled with concern.

"Don't run away."he said and my eyes widened in shock how did he know?

"How do you know?"I asked.

"I've spent enough time to know you by now."He said and continued stepping forward a little taking my hands in his"Running is not going to help you just open up a little to me, to Jake to anyone say whatever is in your mind and you'll feel lighter."he drew circles on the back of my hand with his thumb causing tingles to erupt on my skin.

I just nodded my head and saw disappointment flash his eyes as if he was expecting a better answer.He turned around and walked off.

Over an hour later the party was over ghat meant I could leave.I went out from the hall seeing that it was a secluded area I had to walk a little to catch a cab.

After catching the cab I went to a bar and drank a lot of shot just not enough to knock me out of my senses.I was even aware of my cell phone constantly vibrating.

Soon after that I stumbled in the living room of Mr.Anderson's house and found him sitting on the couch drinking whiskey.

"What were you thinking that after showing me that they are alive I will give you the shares to the company thinking that you are the only person that didn't leave me or betray me!And you are the only family I have trying to make me realize that the family who I thought loved me never really loved me."I said knowing how his mind works.I contonued with a chuckle "Well I can't tell you how wrong you were."

I saw his expression drop from happy to panicked and left the room.I went to my room and booked the next flight to New York and packed up my stuff.
