[Chapter Two]
"El?" James whispered under his breath as she started walking towards him, but instead, she made her way over to where Dudley was on the ground, looking quite pale and whimpering. "El, did you send those dementors out here?"
The woman's hazel gaze quickly shot over in James' direction before narrowing, a look that James was quite familiar with because it usually meant that he said something that she deemed stupid. He figured she didn't send the dementors, but since she worked with Hades and the dementors were in their realm, it was possible that she had something to do with them. He watched as she shook her head before pushing herself to stand upright.
"Don't be stupid, James," she told him, " I would never do such a thing. Unfortunately, Hades loans these dementors out and there's no telling what others have them do. I've been trying to keep better tabs on the use of dementors, especially by the Ministry, but I don't know where these ones were from. I figured Azkaban, but I honestly don't have the slightest clue as to why they would be here unless they were looking for a feast from this one."
She kicked the bottom of Dudley's shoe before smiling in James' direction, but James was still confused. If Elspeth didn't know where the Dementors had come from, how could she have known they were going to be there? There was a lot that James didn't know or understand about the woman's abilities, but he was hoping she would clear some information up. Although she had taken quite the fascination with Dudley as she hovering over him and peering down at him.
"Goodness, he is part-gorilla, isn't he? Don't let Milo see him now, he'll try to make this boy one of his creatures."
"El, what are you doing here?" James asked her, interrupting her playful jaunt with Dudley.
"Why do you think I'm here, Stagqueen? I'm here to take you home. Milo's been plenty worried about you being out here and we figured it was about time you come with us. Everyone who knows of the situation has been worried sick about you, myself included. Honestly, I hope you had your fun here and all, but really, James, I think it's time to go. I actually showed up around your place a little while ago, of course, Vernon and Petunia were raging inside about something you had done. Something about protecting the house from that boy!"
James couldn't help but smile in triumph as it seemed his plan had worked enough.
"Anyways," she continued, "I tried to get a hold of you but I didn't know where you had gone to. Of course, on the next road over, I can hear the two of you yelling back and forth. Honestly, James, you better watch yourself, you already slipped once. You are Harry now, you have to remember that."
"But I-"
Before the two could continue on with their conversation, they were interrupted by a woman shrieking. Immediately, the two went to place their wands away believing it was a muggle or something of the sort.
